Cicendo District and PT KAI Persero Synergize to Present School for the Elderly

Cicendo District collaborated with PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) to hold an Elderly School at Istana Plaza, Bandung City, Monday 27 November 2023.

This activity for the Elderly School carries the theme "Increasing the Heroic Fighting Spirit of KAI Youth, Inspiring Towards a Common Future for the Nation."

The Head of Cicendo Subdistrict, Bira Gumbira, revealed that the Cicendo Subdistrict Elderly School, which will only start running in 2023, initially did not have an implementation budget. Thanks to cooperation and collaboration with PT. KAI can finally be implemented.

"Thank God it can run thanks to collaboration with CSR PT. KAI. "Hopefully this spirit of collaboration will continue to grow," he said.

Apart from that, said Bira, the younger generation must have a sense of "nyaah ka kolot" because one day they will become the elderly generation in the future.

"The hope is that the elderly can be happy and independent," he said.

Head of the Social Rehabilitation Division of the Bandung City Social Service, Irvan Alamsyah also invited the younger generation to always protect our environment so that parents are safe and peaceful.

"Let's work together to protect the environment so that our elders feel safe and peaceful," he said.

Meanwhile, Vice President CSR PT. KAI Persero, Tatang Kusdiman, who was also present and opened the School for the Elderly, hopes that this activity can inspire the millennial generation.

Therefore, he deliberately brought a number of his team members who were from the millennial generation.

"This is our second meeting. This time I brought the KAI team to inspire them, they are a group of millennial generations at PT. KAI," said Vice President CSR PT. KAI.

The Cicendo District Elderly School consists of 60 students aged 60 years and over and accompanied by 15 Friends of the Elderly.

The principal of the Cicendo District Senior Citizens School, Yeni Kusyeni, expressed her gratitude for the sincerity of her students.

Yeni explained that the aim of the elderly school is to show the younger generation that the elderly can be useful, helpful, independent and happy.
