These activities include the Cheap Food Movement (GPM). This activity was held as an effort by the Bandung City Government to stabilize food supplies and prices.

Apart from that, there was also the distribution of free vegetable seeds, cayenne pepper, eggplant, fish and chicks, a basic food bazaar and suitable clothing.

"This activity is also to increase empathy and concern for others who need it more. Because this activity is of course social in nature," said the Chair of the Bandung City DWP, Cici Ema Sumarna.

Cici said that this activity was held as an effort to stabilize food prices to make them more affordable.

"We are collaborating with DKPP, the aim of this food movement is of course to stabilize prices that are more affordable than market prices. This is an important factor in maintaining prices," said Cici.

In the same place, the Head of the Bandung City Food Security and Agriculture Service, Gin Gin Ginanjar, revealed that GPM was implemented as an effort to stabilize food prices.

"We are presenting the Cheap Food Movement (GPM) in collaboration with DWP. While food prices are currently high, this is also an effort by the Bandung City Government to stabilize food supply and prices," he said.

Gin Gin added, GPM presents distributors up to. This is to maintain price stability, so that business actors can engage in direct transactions with the public.

"There are around 29 booths that we provide, and present direct distributors as well as farmers. Today we also present processed food MSMEs. There is also education from DKPP providing free vegetable plants, chicks and fish that are ready to be consumed," he explained.

The cheap food movement and several other activities aim to control regional inflation. So this movement is an effort to make it easier for people to get basic commodities.

"With this activity, people can easily access food at low prices. Because here food is subsidized, especially food that is currently on the rise," he said.

He gave an example, like the price of eggs on the market is IDR 27,000, at GPM the subsidy is IDR 25,000.

"The price of eggs on the market is Rp. 27,000, we subsidize Rp. 2,000, to Rp. 25,000. Even here the quality is good because it comes directly from distributors and farmers. If it is done simultaneously and massively, it can control price fluctuations," said Gin Gin.

"We are preparing a stock of 4 tons of rice. This December, GPM activities will be carried out 2 to 3 more times. In collaboration with the provinces, Bapanas and BI," added Gin Gin. (yan)**
