Arrangement of Street Vendors in Bandung Square, Satpol PP: Dalem Kaum Area is Clean and Clear
The Bandung City Government (Pemkot) organized and moved street vendors (PKL) in the Jalan Dalem Kaum area and around Alun-alun Bandung to the basement area.
Apart from that, a new location for street vendors in the basement area was also inspected, which is said to be almost complete.
Head of Bandung City Satpol PP, Rasdian Setiadi, confirmed that as of today, all street vendors in the Jalan Dalem Kaum area have been moved to the basement area.
"It's clean and clear." "We are moving these street vendors to the basement area," said Rasdian, Thursday 7 December 2023.
He said that the arrangement of street vendors in the Bandung Square area was in line with regulations, the Jalan Dalem Kaum area was a red zone for street vendors. Thus, selling activities in this area are prohibited.
Apart from that, the Bandung City Government has also carried out administrative aspects in this series of arrangements.
"The city government has also provided a solution. Moving the street vendors to the basement area. There it has been arranged, which are the culinary areas, which are the non-culinary areas," said Rasdian.
He emphasized that the Bandung City Satpol PP would control street vendors who were still selling in the red zone after the relocation.
"We are not prohibiting it. Just please let the street vendors sell, but sell in the designated location. We are also socializing it to the public (visitors of the Alun-alun area), if you want to shop, please shop in the designated area (basement area). That way, visitors and traders transact in more comfortable places, the city's aesthetics are maintained, regulations are not violated," he explained.
For your information, the Alun-alun area is one of the targets for PKL arrangement at the end of 2023. Apart from the Alun-alun, other priority areas include Tegalega street vendors.
Currently, the installation of facilities in the Alun-alun basement area is still in progress. The Bandung City Government confirmed that this December the new area for street vendors in the Alun-alun can be inaugurated soon. (ray)**
