From Public Services to Inflation Control, Bandung City Government Collaborates with Three Regions

This cooperation is stated in the Signing of a Joint Agreement between the Bandung City Government and the three regions at the Bandung City Hall, Monday 11 December 2023.

Bandung City Regional Secretary, Ema Sumarna said, each region has its own regional potential and advantages so that through the concept of collaboration these potentials and advantages can become a medium for exchanging information, knowledge and experience.

In Bandung City, said Ema, there are more than 300 applications to provide excellent public services to the community.

According to him, collaboration and cooperation between regions will create efficiency and effectiveness in providing the best public services.

"From our quantitative approach, the innovations that we are developing in public services already have around 300 applications. For example, currently there are 18 applications in public services in the Adminduk. We can save and be efficient just by replicating them. Budget efficiency will be a benefit ," said Emma.

Regarding controlling inflation, continued Ema, currently 90 percent of the basic needs of the people of Bandung city still depend on other regions.

For this reason, it is important to collaborate with other regions, especially with regions producing basic commodities such as Cianjur Regency and Indramayu Regency.

"Cianjur and Indramayu are rice and rice producers because of food storage. (This collaboration) is in the context of rice carrying capacity. We are establishing more intense cooperation. This is to provide data to support food security," he said.

"So far we have been taking chilies. We take them from Bandung Regency and KBB, and from Cianjur we can also collaborate," he added.

He hopes that with the cooperation established by each region, each region can utilize the potential of each region. That way, the collaboration that exists can be utilized as optimally as possible.

"We of course have to really understand what the potential of all regions is that can be exploited by each region. Progress together and succeed together. We use our advantages more optimally for better public services. The end is the welfare of the community," he said.

Meanwhile, Plh. Head of the Aceh Regional Secretariat's Government and Regional Autonomy Bureau, Afifudin, said there were six areas of cooperation between the Aceh Provincial Government and the Bandung City Government.

The six fields are education, communication and information technology, culture, tourism, cooperatives and SMEs and other activity fields agreed upon by the parties in accordance with statutory provisions.

"We can optimize this collaboration for the interests of the nation. Hopefully each region can make its people prosperous and be respected by other regions," he said.

Meanwhile, the Acting Regional Secretary of Indramayu Regency, Aep Surahman, expressed his gratitude to the Bandung City Government for the cooperation that has been established.

He hopes that this collaboration can optimize and empower the potential of each region, both human resource potential, natural resources and the use of technology in order to improve public services and community welfare.

"This is a positive step in optimizing all existing resources to produce effectiveness and efficiency in public services which of course is mutually beneficial for all parties," said Aep.

In the same place, Assistant for Economy and Development of Cianjur Regency, Budhi Rahayu Toyib said that Cianjur Regency has a strong commitment to agribusiness-based economic development.

The agricultural development policy in Cianjur Regency is a priority policy, because agriculture is the mainstay sector driving the economy.

By establishing this memorandum of understanding, he hopes that the two regions can utilize each other's resource capabilities.

"The collaboration between the Bandung city government and the Cianjur Regency government is also a form of commitment by the Cianjur Regency Government to answer one of the issues of increasing the human development index which is currently a priority scale," said Budhi. (rob)**
