"There is a non-military perspective through increasing awareness and active involvement of national elements to become supporting elements for national defense. This must be based on the spirit of defending the country," said Ema at the Bandung City Level National Defense Day Commemoration event, at Bandung City Hall, Tuesday 19 December.

At the event, Ema read the message from the Minister of Defense.

He said, in line with General Sudirman's statement that "The Republic of Indonesia does not belong to a group, does not belong to a religion, does not belong to a tribe, does not belong to a group of customs. But it belongs to all of us. from Sabang to Merauke!".

"This (the National Defense commemoration) must be a momentum for joint commitment in fueling the spirit of defending the country. The goal is to realize a golden Indonesia in 2045. No matter how small a real action based on love for the homeland, it will certainly have a big impact," he said.

Ema added that we need to understand together that the dynamics of the development of the strategic environment, both global, regional and national, have created a spectrum of threats that are complex and difficult to predict.

This matter, continued Ema, must of course be addressed adaptively and responsively according to the escalation of threats.

Ema also encouraged the ceremony participants to continue to ignite the spirit of defending the country by implementing the basic values of defending the country.

"Every step and action is to build the unitary state of the Republic of Indonesia into a developed, sovereign, just and prosperous country," he said. (yan)**
