Cat Lovers Enthusiastically Welcome Free Rabies Vaccination and Sterilization

This activity is a collaboration between the Bandung City Government and The Brady Hunter Foundation, Let's Adopt Indonesia, PDHI West Java, Telkom University, Padjadjaran University, Voluntrip by Kitabisa, Animonda, perikertas.com and Caatis.

At this event, Bandung residents can vaccinate against rabies and sterilize stray cats free of charge. This event is scheduled to take place from 09.00 WIB to 17.00 WIB.

Based on monitoring by Bandung City Public Relations at around 11.00 WIB, this activity was attended by many enthusiastic residents. They appear to be taking cats for vaccination or sterilization purposes.

Head of the Animal Husbandry and Animal Health Division of the Food Security and Agriculture Service (DKPP) of Bandung City, Wilsandi Saefuloh, said that the quota for rabies vaccine is 250 heads and sterilization of stray cats is 130 heads.

"If you see the enthusiasm of the community, we think the quota can be fulfilled faster than the original schedule at 17.00 WIB afternoon. "It feels like it's already finished at 15.00 WIB in the afternoon," said Wilsandi to Bandung City Public Relations.

He also said that rabies vaccination and sterilization of stray cats are routine activities held by the Bandung City DKPP.

Wilsandi also underlined the sterilization of stray cats as an effort to control wild animals in the community.

"We are trying to ensure that disease does not spread, and sterilization is important. Moreover, there is no owner," said Wilsandi.

Positively Welcomed by Cat Lovers

This activity received a positive response from the public, especially among cat lovers. One of them is Andini Pramestisya Putri who brought her cat to be vaccinated against rabies.

Andini brought her two cats, aged 4 and 6 years. He welcomed this activity positively and appreciated the service from both the Bandung City Government and the collaborators.

“The doctor is friendly, the service is okay. "Hopefully there will be more next year, once a year," he said.

Lien Fatimah also expressed the same thing. The residents of Buahbatu District responded positively to the rabies vaccination activity for cats.

Lien came with her 1 year 3 month old cat. He hopes that activities like this can be carried out more massively.

“This happens to be free and the location is close to home. This makes me extraordinary. "Hopefully there will be other free vaccines," said Lien.
