Apart from sufficient availability, the Bandung City Government is also committed to maintaining the trend in food commodity prices so that they do not soar.

"In terms of availability, it is safe. So we hope people don't need to panic," said Bambang.

Regarding the price increases that usually occur ahead of Eid al-Fitr, Bambang ensured that the Bandung City Government would take care of this. He also asked traders in the market not to increase food commodity prices significantly.

Bambang also ensured that the Bandung City Government would immediately take steps if there was a significant increase in food commodities.

"There is potential for an increase. However, we will carry out mitigation efforts. We ensure that at all times we will control both aspects of availability and price increases," explained Bambang.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Bandung City Food and Agriculture Security Service (DKPP), Gin Gin Ginanjar, confirmed that together with the Bandung City Trade and Industry Service (Disdagin) they would maintain aspects of food safety and increase food prices, especially ahead of Eid al-Fitr 2024.

He said that today's price updates for a number of food commodities ahead of Eid include:
Tanjung chili Rp. 70,000 per kilogram;
Chicken Meat Rp. 39,000 per kilogram;
Beef Rp. 140,000 per kilogram;
Chicken Eggs Rp. 29,000 per kilogram.

"There is a price increase but it is not significant. The thing we have to take care of is that the price increase should not be too far from the HET price. The highest limit price," said Gin Gin.

Apart from that, he also advised all parties to maintain stable food commodity price trends ahead of Eid al-Fitr.

"We urge traders not to take advantage of this atmosphere to raise prices too high. Don't use it as an opportunity," advised Gin Gin. (ray)**
