Apart from the Cicaheum terminal, roadworthiness tests will also be carried out at the Leuwi Panjang Terminal from 3 -18 April 2024.

The Bandung City Government also collaborates with elements of the police, Raharja services and other elements in implementing the ramp check.

"We carry out ramp checks, mainly to test bus vehicles at the terminal," said Acting. Mayor of Bandung, Bambang Tirtoyuliono on the sidelines of the inspection, Wednesday 3 April 2024.

It was recorded that around 720 fleets were prepared to transport passengers.

Bambang said that until now there had been no reports of unroadworthy buses operating during the Eid season.

"Until now there have been no reports stating that the vehicle is unfit. We are minimizing it, if it is not fit, we will not allow it to operate," he said.

He also emphasized that all drivers should undergo a urine test. This is a precautionary measure if something undesirable happens.

"All drivers are given a urine test. We don't want there to be even the slightest gap, which results in discomfort for everyone. This is to create comfort for travelers," he said.

Meanwhile, Plt. Head of the Bandung City Transportation Service, Asep Kuswara, emphasized that if it is not roadworthy, the bus must be repaired first before returning to operation.

"If it is not roadworthy, the bus (bus) has to go home. Because it is not roadworthy and must be repaired. There are no dismantling activities here," said Asep.

There are 10 technical inspection points for vehicle ramp checks. These include the vehicle frame number, braking system, lighting system, steering system, suspension system, engine/drive system.

Next, tire tread (minimum 1mm and not varnished), unbreakable glass, emergency response equipment (first aid kit, glass breaker, fire extinguisher, etc.) and telolet horn.

"Telolet is not allowed. Firstly, because the power comes from the wind, while the wind is used to actuate the brake system. Second, the threshold is exceeded, 83 - 118 decibles is the maximum sound," stressed Asep.

Asep emphasized that if anyone is stubborn they will be disciplined and can even be fined.

"We are preparing 720 buses for AKDP (Inter-City Within Province) and AKAP (Inter-City Inter-Province) at Cicaheum and Leuwipanjang Terminals," he said.

Asep predicts that the peak of homecoming traffic will occur from H-3 and H-2 before Idul Fitri. (yan)**
