Gedung Sate

Gedung Sate during the Dutch Colonial Period was known as the Gouvernements Bedrijven building abbreviated as "GB" or the Center for Government Agencies. On the front facade of Gedung Sate, there are ornaments with traditional characteristics, such as those of Hindu temples. Meanwhile, in the middle of the main building, Gedung Sate, stands a tower with a tiered roof or what is called "overlapping" like Meru in Bali or the roof of the Pagoda. The towering top resembles a skewer of satay, so popularly people give the name of the building "Gedung Sate".

Merdeka Building

The building was designed by Van Galen Last and C.P. Wolff Schoemaker. Both are professors at the Technische Hogeschool (High Technical School), namely ITB. During the Japanese occupation this building was called Dai Toa Kaman with its function as a cultural center. In March 1980 this building was again entrusted to be the site of the 25th Asian-African Conference commemoration and at the peak of the commemoration the Museum of the Asian-African Conference was inaugurated by Suharto, President of the Republic of Indonesia - 2.

Museum Post Office

The building, which was built in 1928-1931, originally functioned as the "Posten Telegraf Kantoor" (post and telegraph office). Now a Large Post Office managed by PT. Indonesian post. The architect J. Ven Gendt applied a functional modern architectural style (geometric art-deco) combined with a tropical roof. In one corner of this building in the 1920s a pump well was built to provide clean water to the city's residents.

Indonesian Building Sues

Initially a residential house was built on this site, in 1906. Then it was developed into the building that can be seen today in 1917, and serves as a Landraad (court) building. Important events that have occurred here are the trials of Soekarno (later to become the First President of the Republic of Indonesia), Gatot Mangkoepradja, Maskoen Soemadipoetera and Soepriadinata by the Dutch Government. The trial lasted for 5 (five) months, from 18 August to 22 December 1930.

Villa Isola

Built in 1933 for a Dutch millionaire named D.W. Beretty, at that time this villa was located far out on the outskirts of the city. Like most buildings by C.P.W. Schoemaker, this early Streamline Moderne style building has a straight axis towards Tangkuban Prahu, the main volcano on the Bandung Plain.
