"On behalf of the Bandung City Government, I am sorry for the eruption of Mount Semeru. Hopefully, the residents there will be given safety," said Oded at the Bandung City Hall, Saturday, December 4, 2021.

Oded also hopes that residents around the Mount Semeru area remain vigilant. So if something happens, you can save yourself.

"Residents must be prepared so that there are no many victims," Oded urged.

It should be noted that dozens of residents in Sumberwuluh Village, Lumajang Regency, East Java, were reported to have fled due to Mount Semeru erupting accompanied by thick rain of volcanic ash.

BPBD officers and social services have moved to the location to pick up residents who are trapped in their homes and do not dare to come out because the volcanic ash is quite thick.

The rain of volcanic ash caused a number of areas in Pronojiwo and Candipuro sub-districts to be dark as night. So the Lumajang Regency Government will open refugee posts in the Kajang and Pronojiwo Rooms.

The National Disaster Management Agency noted that Mount Semeru, which is now erupting and spitting volcanic material, has a long record recorded since 1818. ***
