SMART CITY ON THE TRACK, BANDUNG GOVERNMENT PROMOTE E-PARTICIPATION

Deputy Mayor of Bandung, Yana Mulyana said, with the presence of e-Participation as an effort to reduce interactions between parties who need to get information and those who provide information, especially at this time the Covid-19 pandemic is still happening.

"Hopefully this will also become our shared passion to make Bandung a smart city," he said when opening the RW Capacity Building Activity in Bandung City through the Socialization of E-Participation Applications at Bumi Sangkuriang, Bandung City, Thursday, December 2, 2021.

According to Yana, by continuing to develop applications and all citizens can be connected and integrated through various applications developed, the goal of becoming e-Government can be achieved.

"Although awards or appreciations are not the goal, thank God this year an independent consultant, the Eden Strategy Institute in Singapore, conducted research on 230 major cities in the world. Bandung is the only city in Indonesia that is in the top 50 and ranked 28th, " he said.

"So hopefully this shows that what we are all doing towards Bandung Smart City is on the right track, especially today the e-Participation application was launched," he continued.

Yana added that the government cannot work on problems alone, but requires the participation of various community groups. So that the e-Participation application can help the government and as an effort to build the city of Bandung.

"This makes the ladies and gentlemen (Chairman of the RW) as figures in their respective regions, becoming our eyes and ears from the government. So hopefully if there is something that needs to be conveyed, that needs to be improved in our efforts to build Bandung from what is already good at this time to be better for all of us can be achieved," he hoped.

Meanwhile, Assistant for Government and People's Welfare, Asep Saeful Gufron said that one of the functions of the RW is to explore the potential of pure community self-help in implementing development and fostering the dynamic conditions of the community in the RW working area.

"So the RW has an important role as a partner of the government in suppressing government affairs, especially in gathering participation and strengthening community collaboration to support development in the city of Bandung," he said.

Given the strategic position and role of RWs as government partners in the implementation of Bandung City development, activities to increase the capacity of RWs in Bandung City through the socialization of the e-participation application are important to be implemented and implemented in each RW.

The activity was attended by 200 participants who were divided into two sessions, consisting of elements of the District, elements of the RW Forum, and the Chairs of the RW Forum for Kelurahan in Bandung. Meanwhile, the speaker was the Chairman of the Bandung City LPM DPD, Merdi Hajiji.

"The purpose of this RW capacity building activity in the city of Bandung is to increase the knowledge and ability of RW heads in exploring and calculating the potential and pure self-help participation in the implementation of development by optimizing the use of information and communication technology," said Asep.

"Then, the increased synchronization and collaboration of RW with the Bandung City Government in implementing programs and activities in the region," he continued.

Asep hopes that this activity can form a common understanding of the RW management regarding optimizing efforts to explore and calculate potential as well as genuine non-governmental participation in the implementation of development through the use of information and communication technology.

"Then the establishment of a harmonious and dynamic partnership between the RW and the Bandung City Government in implementing programs and activities in the region," he hoped.

On the same occasion, the Chairperson of the RW Forum, Robbiana Dani Awaludin, with this e-Participation, can calculate the number or volume of community participation, which so far has had a lot of participation, especially in the region.

"Especially in this COVID-19 pandemic, I believe and I have seen for myself that the role of the RT RW in Bandung City is really battered to deal with COVID-19. Thank God this can be done, it can be done to fight this Covid-19," he said. .

He also hopes that the Heads of RT and RW will not only count, but how to mobilize the community so that they can really participate in development in the city of Bandung.
