Deputy Mayor of Bandung, Yana Mulyana appreciated the youths because during the Covid-19 pandemic, they did not stop to innovate and be creative, and it was hoped that the youths could be a trigger in efforts to recover the economy after the Covid-19 pandemic.

"Starting next year we hope to start the economic recovery. Because for the City of Bandung, the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic is extraordinary. In 2020 and 2021, the potential loss of Regional Original Income is more than Rp. 1 trillion," he said when opening the event.

"So that the City Government continues to provide economic relaxation and always encourages especially MSMEs or current youth to continue to innovate, be creative. God willing, the City Government will attend," he continued.

Yana said, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, many residents had their permanent jobs affected, such as having to stop or be dismissed. So they are entrepreneurs or have new businesses.

"We always encourage them to continue to innovate to be creative, the City Government will be present, for example, friends create new types of culinary products, through the KUKM Service we can provide assistance," he said.

"Then Disdagin will provide free nutrition packs or quality tests, PIRT at the Health Office, halal certificates, all of which are given free of charge, including we help from the marketing side," he said.

Some time ago, the Bandung City Government also held business matching through the Indonesian Embassies (KBRI) in various countries, to get buyers such as Department Store entrepreneurs so that they could have direct contact with business actors.

"We gather 15 entrepreneurs, both culinary, craft, and fashion. We hold video conferences with potential buyers from abroad. We will show them one by one, when he is interested, he will talk to the owner," Yana said.

From the business matching, a department store entrepreneur from Belgium also purchased selected products which were successfully delivered up to 2 containers, before the payment was made even before delivery. Yana assessed that MSMEs are resistant to monetary crises, pandemics, and other obstacles. So he also appreciates Dispora which provides training on business to young people.

"I thank my friends, because the City Government cannot solve this problem alone. It needs help to trigger the economic recovery of the City of Bandung in 2022 and the following years," he added.

Meanwhile, the Head of Bandung City Dispora, Edy Marwoto conveyed that the Bandung City Youth Appreciation Night activity was an effort to strengthen the relationship between WMP Bandung City and policy makers in Bandung City.

"The purpose of organizing this activity is to create an independent WMP, increase the motivation and entrepreneurial spirit of the youth of Bandung City to minimize unemployment which has an impact on the crime rate," he said.

"Then make WMPs able to think logically, specific, measurable, activity-oriented, relevant and realistic, and confident in their ability to run a business or business," he continued.

In addition, giving appreciation can also be an inspiration and role model for other Bandung youth who are interested in becoming a new young entrepreneur. Edy revealed, a total of 450 youths participated in the training and were divided into 9 training sectors, namely coffee barista training, latte art, barber shop, pastry and bakery, content creator, photography, digital marketing, digital literacy, and mushroom cultivation and processing training. .

"The determination of youth who excel in this activity is the result of a judging process carried out starting from entrepreneurial character building activities, seminars and workshops, training and practice," he said.
