As the good news delivered by Plt. Mayor of Bandung, Yana Mulyana at the end of the year, Friday, December 31, 2021 yesterday.

He said that the Covid-19 pandemic in Bandung is now under control.

"Confirmation of positive cases to the number of hospital availability (bed occupancy rate) in the city of Bandung has now entered the safe limit as recommended by WHO," he said.

Yana added that the supporting factor for controlling the Covid-19 pandemic in Bandung was vaccination.

According to him, currently the vaccination rate for both the first and second doses in Bandung has reached more than 90 percent.

Yana is optimistic that the Covid-19 pandemic in Bandung in 2022 will turn out to be endemic.

However, Yana reminded the residents of Bandung City to keep tightening health protocols.

He gave an example of several countries with a good level of virus control, but the people ignore health protocols. The bad effect is the increase in the spread of the virus again.

"For us, it's enough for a pandemic to have a second wave like yesterday. Naudzubillah, it's terrible," he said.

Optimism is also expressed by layers of society. Aldi for example. The man who helped his mother sell Nasi Padang on Jalan Prof. Dr. Sutami admitted that he was more optimistic about welcoming 2022.

Although, he admits 2020 to 2021 will be a tough year for himself and his family. His culinary business has been shaken by the pandemic. Revenues are declining, not to mention fears of catching the virus.

"I'm optimistic that 2022 will improve, business will run smoothly, and Indonesia will be free from corona," he explained when met by Public Relations of Bandung City.

The same thing was conveyed by a resident named Diki. This middle-aged man who works as a driver every day admits that 2021 will be a tough year for himself, as well as his family.

However, observing the decline in active cases, the spread, and easing in various social activities makes Diki optimistic that 2022 will be a good start for development.

"Alhamdulillah, 2022 should be better. It has to be more stable," he said.

It seems that the universe supports the optimism of the citizens of Bandung. At least, sunny weather in most areas of Bandung City on Saturday 1 January 2022 illustrates this. Hopefully. (ray)**
