Indonesian President Joko Widodo paid a working visit to Bandung City, Monday, January 17, 2022. The people of Bandung City seemed enthusiastic about welcoming President Jokowi.

The President carries out his work duties in Bandung City by visiting Parahyangan Catholic University at 08.00 WIB. Then, Jokowi continued his working visit to Bandung's Simple Market.

The people of Bandung City, especially those who live near the two points of the President's visit, seemed enthusiastic and did not waste the opportunity to meet with Jokowi, or at least to see up close the figure of this number one person in Indonesia.

Based on the observations of Bandung Public Relations at the Bandung Simple Market, the traders seemed enthusiastic about waiting for Jokowi's arrival.

Nurjanah, a resident who lives on Jalan Sukajadi (behind Paris Van Java), Bandung City, admitted that she had been waiting for the President's arrival since 09.00 WIB. His wish was simple: to see Jokowi in person.

"Even if it's just drugs, it's okay. Nice to meet Mr. President," he explained.

Not only Nurjanah, the traders at the Simple Market also looked happy. Even though they had to be closely guarded by the Presidential Security Forces (Paspampres), the traders said they were happy that Jokowi had visited their stalls.

One of them is Adang. The resident of Cililin, Bandung Regency, who lives in Pasar Simple, admitted that the President will visit his place to sell his goods when he is happy.

"There are many things I want to tell the President. But I'm sure, later (after I've met) I'll be nervous," he said.

Not only at those two points, the people of Bandung City also seemed happy to see the President's convoy passing through a number of roads in the city of Bandung. Arriving at the Hasan Sadikin Hospital area, people seemed to be waiting for the President's vehicle to pass.

For information, President Jokowi's visit was also accompanied by the Governor of West Java Ridwan Kamil, and Plt. Mayor of Bandung, Yana Mulyana.

Jokowi's visit to Bandung was, among others, to provide briefing on the 67th Anniversary of Parahyangan Catholic University (Unpar).

After that, Jokowi and his entourage will continue their journey to Pasar Simple, Bandung City to provide direct cash assistance (BLT) to street vendors and stalls. (ray)**
