The construction of this new school building is a form of government presence in realizing equal distribution of education in the city of Bandung. Also supports the zoning system in the implementation of New Student Admission (PPDB), so that all students can attend school in their respective environments.

Plt. The Mayor of Bandung, Yana Mulyana appreciated the Bandung City Education Office for being able to answer the problem with the enactment of zoning for New Student Admissions (PPDB) in Bandung City. Previously, the Bandung City Government had ordered mapping and the results for the elementary level were that there were no blankspots, only that there was still limited capacity. Meanwhile, for junior high schools, there are several areas that have been declared blankspots or lack of state schools.

"Finally we did the mapping. Today it has been answered, hopefully there will be no more blankspots for the junior high school level, so that we can properly implement the zoning system for PPDB," Yana said in her speech at the Inauguration of the New School Unit Building at SMPN 66 Bandung, Friday (4/02/2022). ).

According to him, there should be no school-age children who do not attend school in the city of Bandung at all levels. Then it can be realized thanks to the encouragement of the Bandung City DPRD, the Education Office and others.

The Head of the Bandung City Education Office, Hikmat Ginanjar explained, in accordance with the priority program according to the RPJMD and the performance agreement of the Head of Service with the Mayor, the construction of a new school unit for the State Junior High School, namely increasing the accessibility of education.

"Alhamdulillah, since 2019, during the leadership of (late) Mang Oded and Kang Yana, the Education Office has opened 18 filial schools whose locations are in several state junior high schools and this answers that the government is here for the community," said Hikmat Ginanjar.

For information, in 2018 there was the implementation of a zoning system on PPDB in the city of Bandung. Finally, blankspots were found or areas that were not reached by the State Junior High School. The Department of Education and related stakeholders conducted a joint study with the Bandung City Government. As a result of the study, a pilot school was formed which is currently changing its term to filial.

In 2019, there were six filial schools and the number continues to grow until now a total of 18 filial schools are still under the parent (joint school building). All of them have obtained the National School Identification Number (NPSN) but do not yet have a school building.

Then in 2020, the Education Office received land from the Department of Housing and Settlements, Land and Plantations (DPKP3), the Bandung City Government and a fairly wide division of buildings from the main school. After the new building was inaugurated, it can be used for teaching and learning activities (KBM).

The response from the community or parents of students is very positive. All of them are supportive and very happy because they already have a school building and are closer to home. *** (fat/irv)
