Concern for driving safety is important. Regarding this, there is a small community called Edan Sepur. Come on, get to know them!

So, Edan Sepur is a train lover community that has existed since 2009. This community consists of around 180 people with an average age of 15 to 25 years.

Initially, the activities of this community were confined to the railroads. However, since 2014, they have regularly held a cool action titled Crossing Discipline.

This activity is regularly held once a week. Specifically, in the city of Bandung, the Crossing Discipline activities are carried out at five level rail crossings throughout the city of Bandung: Cimindi, Andir crossing (Garuda Street), Cikudapateuh (Ahmad Yani Street), Laswi Street and Kiaracondong.

Bandung City Public Relations have the opportunity to follow the Crossing Discipline which is carried out at the intersection of Jalan Laswi. Public Relations of Region 2 Bandung in the Edan Sepur Community, Abdullah Putra Gandhara alias Aga explained, the indicator for the location of Crossing Discipline is seen from the high potential for violations.

"In addition, public complaints on social media are also indicators. This activity is a form of concern for the community," said Aga.

About 25 volunteers took to the streets each time this activity was carried out. They split the formation into two paths. The tasks were divided.

Some carried banners containing education, some brought loudspeakers to remind motorists who violated them, and some documented activities as archives.

In general, the details of the activities in the Crossing Discipline are education for motorists who have the potential to commit two fatal violations. That is, breaking through the guardrail to the railroad crossing or against the current.

“For the case at the Laswi crossing, the potential for drivers to go against the current is high. That's why we prepare barriers and we also educate those who break through," said Aga.

In addition to educating motorists who violate, Edan Sepur also delivered a brief education about driving safety, especially for two-wheelers or motorbikes. Starting from the use of helmets, safety riding, and basic driving safety guidelines.

When a driver is caught violating the law, the volunteers will approach and educate them in a polite and persuasive manner.

However, it is a different story if this activity is also combined with police officers. If there are officers, the violator has the potential to be fined.

“The Crossing Discipline usually involves a number of parties from the Police, Dishub, and also PT. Indonesian Railways," he said.

Seven years of holding routine crossing discipline activities, Aga representing the Edan Sepur Community said he was proud. Although not much, now their cool action is getting attention from various parties, starting from PT. Indonesian Railways, Bandung Polrestabes, and Bandung City Government.

But the most important thing from this activity, this education can really make the people of Bandung City aware of driving safety.

"Don't stop this activity, don't get tired of educating the public about driving safety," he said.

Aga also advised motorists to always obey the recommendations and appeals of volunteers or anyone who gives advice on driving safety, especially at railroad crossings.

"Whoever gave the warning. Want volunteers or officers, please obey. Because if you get kissed by the train, it's only once in a lifetime (certainly died)," he ordered.
