Kang Pisman has even been recognized in Asia. Some areas and countries have even adopted Kang Pisman.

The Acting Mayor of Bandung City, Yana Mulyana admitted that waste issues in Bandung City are quite complex. Bandung produces waste approximately 1.500 ton a day.

However, in addressing this issue, it must be carried out by all stakeholders.

“We need to collaborate in addressing waste and flood issues,” he said on the National Waste Care Day (HPSN) in Bandung City, in Pussenkav TNI AD, Monday 21 February 2022.

He stated that Kang Pisman acts as a challenge as to make the public prosperous, including educating the public to choose and separate waste or trash better.

“We can collaborate since the Bandung City Government can not act alone. It requires a collaboration with many parties, including one with Pussenkav,” he said.

He said that waste and flood are inseparable.

“Certainly, flood causes loss to the public. The retention basin can be a fish cultivation spot or for strengthening the livestock industry. As to waste management, it can also provide compost or food for livestock through magots,” he said.

Yana urged the public to become more aware of the environment. One way is by doing Kang Pisman in their respective residence.

“Treat waste well because if the waste management is done properly, it can benefit the public,” he said.

Additionally, the Acting Head of Environmental Agency of Bandung City, Dudy Prayudi, on the National Waste Care Day, stated that the purpose of celebrating the day is in line with the featured program of Bandung City, Kang Pisman.

“The purpose is in line with the three main objectives: waste management, reducing emission, and creating proklim. Through a strong commitment in continuous waste management through Kang Pisman, we want to show public participation to separate and collect (waste) actively,” he said.

Dudy said that through Kang Pisman, it can change public attitudes, making them more aware of the environment, along with waste.

“This change is supported by Kang Pisman, changing the mindset regarding waste culture. So, the waste disposed to the TPA reduces,” he said.

Dudy conveyed that many innovations came from Kang Pisman, such as waste-free areas, waste bank, and waste becomes gold.

“We have a waste-free area in 180 RW. There are also two wards in this category, Cihaurgeulis and Sukamiskin,” he said.

“803 waste banks are dispersed in subdistricts, wards, schools, agencies, and offices. There are also Waste to Gold where waste is saved and when it reaches approximately Rp40.000 it is exchanged with gold,” he said.

Additionally, the Deputy Commander of Pussenkav TNI AD, the Brigadier General of TNI, Hendrikus Joko Riyanto, explained that Pussenkav as a public institution in Bandung City is moved by the program from Bandung City Government as a solution to waste management.

“We utilize the environment. Start the SAE, we plant various crops to be consumed by the public,” he said

“So, compost and plants (are utilized). Because of that, the collaboration is evidence of TNI AD,” he said. (ray)**
