Ahead of G20, Bandung City is Ready to Contribute Ideas and Ideas

Ahead of the 2022 G20 Indonesia Presidency, the City of Bandung will host the Urban 20 (U20) forum.

The forum tried to formulate ideas and solutions for the three priority issues of the G20 Presidency. Namely, the important role of urban and rural youth in post-pandemic recovery, acceleration of technological innovation and digital literacy, and post-pandemic economic recovery by strengthening employment opportunities for youth.

Besides U20, West Java also hosted a number of activities. These include the Think 20 (T20) and Youth 20 (Y20) forums which are the pre-event for the 2022 G20 Indonesia Presidency.

In the forum entitled 'Urban 20 Talks: Cities, Villages and Youth in the Digital Age', there were competent speakers in the field of regional development who would discuss three main urban issues.

"Thank God the City of Bandung is the host of the U20 forum. Hopefully we can contribute the thoughts of the citizens of Bandung to later become a statement at the G20," said the Acting Mayor (Plt) of the Mayor of Bandung, Yana Mulyana at the Urban 20 Forum (U20) activity. at the Pullman Hotel, Thursday 24 February 2022 evening.

One of the discussions at U20 is youth. Yana believes that youth are the motor of development. The role of youth can also help the wheels of development in the region.

"We have a demographic bonus, so that youth become the driving force of development in the city of Bandung," he said.

Yana hopes that the ideas and ideas that appear in the forum can be implemented.

"Youth can together build a much better Bandung," said Yana.

The Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto was also present at the event.

He said that the 2022 G20 Indonesia presidency would be the most crucial period in the process of global economic recovery. This is considering the Covid-19 pandemic is still continuing, especially with the new variants emerging.

"The G20 presidency is an opportunity for Indonesia to show Indonesia's leadership in the global arena, to answer various international challenges," he said.

"Of course, the national interest is also the concern of the Government of Indonesia, namely realizing an inclusive, resilient, and sustainable economic recovery," added Airlangga who is also the Chair of the Indonesian G20 Sherpa.

Other speakers who attended the event included the Governor of DKI as the U20 Co-Chair, Anies Baswedan; Governor of West Java, Ridwan Kamil as U20 Co-Chair; and Bambang PS Brodjonegoro as Lead Co-Chairs T20, and Puteri Komarudin as Chair of the Y20 Italy 2021 Indonesian Delegation.

Meanwhile, the Governor of West Java, Ridwan Kamil, said that digital use must be carried out as well as possible. There are several principles to solve this, such as being proactive, scientific, and innovative.

"This year's economic revival is eagerly awaited, so I hope that the community will participate in the idea so that it can be an inspiration as well as a conclusion at U20," he said.

Meanwhile, the Chair of the 2021 Y20 Italy Delegation, Puteri Komarudin, explained that last year more than 600 youths took part in providing ideas in discussions for the progress of the country.

"This year, we are trying to do youth employment and employment in the informal sector, as well as social entrepreneurship. We hope that all of this can be discussed and good ideas are born to be implemented," he said. (yan)**
