“Now, it is pleasing to the eye. Tidier and fresher, we could see the sky more clearly,” said the Regional Secretary of Bandung City, Ema Sumarna on a survey of the cable dislocation to the underground (grounding) on Friday morning, 4 March 2022.

Although in some segments, there are still crosswire cables, Ema stated that these cables were the property of PLN and PT. Telkom.

“There are several providers left such as Telkom and PLN since they require additional time for grounding preparation. For Telkom’s, they will be ready to be moved underground in the middle of March 2022,” he said.

Emma added that this year, all crosswire cables in Cikapayang will be fully moved underground. Although they are the property of Telkom and PLN, Ema ascertained that they would all be moved.

“Actually, there will be open cut in 2 two days to dig the underground. However, it would impact the traffic. The plan is that it is to be carried out tonight at 20.00 PM,” he said.

As to the cable grounding, it is not only concerned with ‘as long as it is done immediately’.

Ema hoped that every agency involved could coordinate with each other well. So, it could minimize inefficient and ineffective work.

“Please close the hole after the digging process. Next week, it must be done. Please coordinate with the Public Works Office. Do not let the hole harm people or even harm the existing facilities,” he asked.

Additionally, the Head of Communication and Informatics Agency of Bandung City, Yayan A. Brilyana, stated that unfunctional cables would be dealt with tonight.

“As per the agreed timeline, functional and non-functional cables, all of them will be cut and moved to the mainhole. We will only leave cables of PLN and Telkom,” Yayan said.

Not only surveying the dislocation process, Ema also surveyed the Juanda and Riau Streets to observe the condition of parks and facilities of aesthetics of Bandung City. (din)*
