Bandung City DPRD Proposes Yana to Be the Definitive Mayor of Bandung

The Bandung City DPRD proposed Yana Mulyana as Mayor of Bandung for the remainder of the 2018-2023 term. This was stated in the Bandung City DPRD Plenary Meeting, Friday, March 4, 2022.

Yana currently serves as Plt. Mayor of Bandung. Previously, Yana served as Deputy Mayor of Bandung. Yana's nomination as Mayor of Bandung coincided with her dismissal as Deputy Mayor of Bandung.

"So (the plenary meeting) today is the announcement of the appointment of the Deputy Mayor of Bandung for the 2018-2023 term as Mayor of Bandung, and the dismissal of the Deputy Mayor of Bandung. The mechanism that must be taken from the city (government) to the Governor. Later from the Governor proposed to the Ministry of Home Affairs. Later, the Ministry of Home Affairs will ask the Governor to inaugurate," Yana said after the plenary session.

Currently, the Bandung City Government and Bandung City DPRD are waiting for further policies from the Governor of West Java and also the central government regarding Yana's proposal to become the definitive Mayor of Bandung.

"Both the City Government and the Bandung City DPRD have carried out according to regulations (related to the proposal to become mayor)," he said.

Meanwhile, Deputy Chairman I of the Bandung City DPRD Ade Supriadi expressed his gratitude for Yana's dedication as Deputy Mayor of Bandung for the 2018-2023 period.

"Thank you to Yana Mulyana for her services while serving as Deputy Mayor of Bandung for the period 2018-2023, and also as Plt. The current mayor of Bandung. Good job," he said.

As a reminder, Yana Mulyana was proposed to be the Mayor of Bandung to replace the Mayor of Bandung, Oded M. Danial, who died on December 10, 2021 ago. (ray)**
