After trying their best in searching for cooking oil in various retail stores, residents finally found it in the market operation (OP) held with the Commerce and Industry Agency (Disdagin) of Bandung City.

The Head of Disdagin of Bandung City, Elly Wasliah, stated that in this OP, the government distributed 1.000 litre of cooking oil for 8 Wards or RWs in Antapani Tengah.

“This event is an initiation of the headman of Antapani Tengah, working with Dagangan, an application to buy or sell daily necessities. The 1.000 litre of cooking oil of Filma brand was distributed to 500 residents in 8 wards of Antapani tengah,” Elly said.

Elly emphasized that although Antapani Tengah had 24 wards, currently, only 8 of them were selected to receive premium cooking oil.

“For the remaining (wards), I have informed the subdistrict to propose for OPs. So, all residents in Antapani subdistricts could receive premium cooking oil,” she said.

Concerning the collaboration with Dagangan, Elly also stated that the government was open as to searching for distributors collaborating in providing cooking oil for the public.

“Hopefully, this effort keeps being carried out in other regions. For example, Dagangan is a form of support from the government to provide cooking oil for Antapani Tengah regions,” Elly said.

As a response to the OP in Antapani Tengah, the Operation Manager of Dagangan of West Java, Iqbal Ansyori, stated that there were 5 warehouses spread to provide daily necessities for residents of West Java.

“We already have 30 hubs or warehouses spread in Central Java, Yogyakarta, and West Java. In West Java, they are spread in West Bandung, Padalarang, Cimahi, Bandung City, and Bandung Regency. They will also open in East Bandung to cover necessities of residents in Rancaekek to Cicalengka,” Iqbal emphasized.

Therefore, Iqbal said that Antapani Tengah had become the primary point of OP to distribute premium cooking oil, since it was within its service area.

“Additionally, we are also collaborating with the Government of Antapani Tengah to target customers here,” he added.

For the price range, Iqbal informed that, daily necessities’ prices can be viewed on Dagangan application and they are cheaper and more affordable for merchants and residents.

“As to the price range, it is 5-10% cheaper. Insyaallah, it could help merchants and the public to buy their needs. People just order on the application, we will deliver their purchases to their location,” he emphasized.

People’s enthusiasm was seen from the queues in the Antapani Tengah Office. Each resident took his/her turn to purchase the premium cooking oil at the price set by the government: Rp14.000 per litre.

Atik, one of the residents who had purchased cooking oil, was seen happy. She hugged the two-litre cooking oil.

“I am glad, I think this OP is very good. It helps residents when cooking oil is scarce,” Atik said.

Atik also felt pity for the current condition where many people scrambled even cheated to gain profit amidst the scarcity of cooking oil.

“If we look at countries oversea, why do we have to fight for it? Some even hoard cooking oil, although the consumption is not too much. My family, in a month, only uses 2 litres,” she said. (din)**
