Bandung residents, do you know what to prepare before getting married? Building? Catering? Or wedding dress?

It turns out that apart from that, the first thing that the bride and groom must prepare is the requirements for marriage. Do not let the rent for the building and other facilities have been paid, but the marriage requirements have been missed.

So, what are the marriage requirements that the bride and groom must prepare?

It turns out that the requirements are quite a lot, folks. Head of Antapani's Office of Religious Affairs (KUA), Suhendi, explained what letters and cards the bride-to-be had to prepare. This includes photocopies of ID cards, birth certificates, and valid family cards.

"In addition, for those who are widowed or widowed, either because of divorce or left to die, there must be an original divorce certificate or death certificate," said Suhendi.

After that, Suhendi added, the bride and groom must also provide 2x3 (4 sheets) and 4x6 (1 sheet) photos with a blue background.

There is also another letter that must be completed if it turns out that the prospective bride is still a minor. Because, the age limit for the bride and groom that has been set in the regulation is 19 years.

"For those who are underage, which is less than 19 years old, there must be a letter of dispensation from the Religious Courts. In the past it was at least 16 years old for prospective wives," he explained.

"For now, both prospective husbands and prospective wives must be at least 19 years of marriage age. When we have received a recommendation from the Religious Court, then we from KUA can follow up the process," added Suhendi.

While explaining several other requirements, Suhendi mentioned that there are requirements that brides and grooms often forget.

Although it is not the main or crucial requirement, this point can be a consideration whether the bride and groom can continue the marriage process or not.

"The requirements that the bride and groom often forget to check are health requirements. It is better to include a health certificate from the puskesmas," he said.

The physical health of the prospective wife and husband also needs to be considered. Especially in the midst of this pandemic, vigilance needs to be increased. So, Suhendi conveyed, it was not only a Covid health check, but also more thoroughly physically.

"For example, don't let there be indications of serious infectious diseases such as HIV/AIDS. It's not the principal, but this is a part that we must pay attention to as well," he explained.

All completed requirements will be processed within a maximum of 10 working days (Monday-Friday). To speed up the process, Suhendi said, the bride and groom can register first on the official website of the Ministry of Religion through simkah.kemenag.go.id.

However, the bride and groom still have to come to the local KUA for file checks and pre-marital coaching.

Talking about pre-marital coaching, Suhendi admitted, KUA Antapani provides this service for prospective brides. This coaching class is held every Tuesday or Wednesday.

"At KUA Antapani there is a coaching place for the prospective bride and groom. Even though it is limited in content, the maximum is 15 people. Especially now that you have to keep your distance, so it's a maximum of 7-8 people," he admitted.

This guidance contains educational materials about religion, domestic life, and health that need to be considered if the future brides and grooms are married. Because the challenges after marriage are much greater than when they were single.

"You have to really be prepared physically and mentally first. Don't let it go down when you are married," said Suhendi.

For brides-to-be who have limited funds for a wedding or want to get married in a simple way, Suhendi said, KUA Antapani can help with marriage contract facilities.

"Here we have a contract room as well. The contract facilities are simple, such as tables, chairs, background decorations in the room that can be used by the bride and groom," he said.

Even in the midst of a pandemic, it turns out that quite a lot of people came to KUA Antapani this morning. There are those who take care of marriage, reconciliation, and some other letter needs.

Suhendi said there was no change in the number of wedding services either before or after the pandemic. On average in a month, there are 30-40 couples who get married in Antapani.

"There is no change. So the standard in Antapani is 30-40 couples per month. But it really depends on the month," he said.

Like during Ramadan, usually the number of people who get married will not be as many as other months. You could say, only 1-2 pairs. However, the number of marriages will rise again in the month of Shawwal.

For requirements for marriage during the pandemic, Suhendi said, everything was adjusted to the regulations from the city government.

"Yesterday it was limited to 50 percent, then the use of masks must be considered. Now that it has begun to be relaxed, yes, it is permissible to have a wedding reception in the building," he concluded.

After talking, Suhendi was ready to go to the wedding location in Antapani Wetan. There is a bride-to-be who is waiting for him as the head. (din)*
