Eric said that it was a form of optimism of the Bandung City Government in recovering the economy, along with providing room for Bandung City residents affected economically by the Covid-19 pandemic.

“So, it is not only business matching, but also the quality of the products must also be maintained,” he said.

“Some strengthening is done, such as in trading, agriculture, MSMEs, cultural, and touristic sectors,” he emphasized.

Moreover, Eric also mentioned the preparation for the Asia Africa Conference 2022. He hoped that the festivity of KAA could be an attraction resulting positively in the economic recovery of Bandung City.

“Certainly, it is not only the festivity. But also has economic influences for the people of Bandung City,” he said.

Still speaking about tourism industry, Eric said that the economic recovery measurements of the Bandung City Government were carried out by revitalizing several areas attracting tourists like Teras Cihampelas.

This revitalization was already planned in the budgeting plan of 2021. But it was not yet realized due to budgeting adjustment due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

“Currently, there are third parties who are ready to support (the revitalization of Teras Cihampelas). Basically, infrastructural recovery could affect economically,” he emphasized.

Eric was also optimistic that the economic growth of Bandung City would increase in 2022. For your information, the economic recovery of Bandung City in 2021 was at 3,5%. The Acting Mayor of Bandung City, Yana Mulyana, on several occasions, informed that it predictably would increase up to 5,5% in 2022.

“Especially when the vaccination progress in Bandung City for the first dose has reached 100% and the second one is near 100%. So, (we) have to be optimistic,” Eric said. (ray)**
