The government together with the legislature, the General Election Commission (KPU), the General Elections Supervisory Body (Bawaslu), and the Election Organizing Honorary Council (DKPP) have determined the general election for the president and vice president, members of the provincial DPRD, city district and DPD RI on Wednesday 14 February 2024 future.

Meanwhile, the election of governors and deputy governors, mayors, deputy mayors, and regents and deputy regents will be held on Wednesday 27 November 2024.

Related to this, the Bandung City Government ensures that the two elections will be successful.

"This agreement must of course be carried out by all stakeholders, including the ranks of the Bandung city government," said Acting Mayor (Plt) of the Mayor of Bandung, Yana Mulyana at the Socialization of the 2024 General Election and Simultaneous Election, Tuesday, March 29, 2022.

He revealed, of the approximately 2.5 million residents of Bandung City, 1.78 million of them have the right to vote which is expected to be served.

There were 7,107 polling stations, involving 49,00 officers from the Voting Organizing Group (KPPS), as well as 1,500 security officers and 14,000 members of the linmas which became one package of election security and simultaneous elections.

"Preparations must be made carefully, especially to minimize the possibility of errors in both data and other resource support," he said.

"We are also required to have population data as a determinant of the number requirements and verification of NIK-based political party membership. Continuous monthly updating of voter data. As well as the service of issuing a domicile certificate for the permanent office of management," Yana explained.

To that end, Yana asked sub-districts and sub-districts to be careful by always checking supporting documents such as document certificates, lease-to-use lease contracts that are valid at least until the end of the election stage.

"Today, everyone hopes that the socialization will be well so that the high participation value will also run well and smoothly. The result is good legitimacy," he said.

Meanwhile, the Chairperson of the Bandung City Election Commission, Suharti, said that the socialization was the beginning to provide direction to the regions to make the election a success.

"This is an initial socialization to the regions. We know that technical policies exist in the regions. So of course we have to prepare them starting from the secretariat and secretariat rooms in the regions," he said.

He said that this year there were already various agendas, such as the recruitment of ad hoc bodies with various regulations.

"Starting from the stage in June 2022, this is the recruitment of ad hoc bodies. Reflecting on the 2019 elections, the plan is that there will be an age limit, to become an ad hoc agency at least 17 years, and there will be a limit of up to 50 years. We will wait for the results in PKPU which will be discussed in Commission II immediately issued and socialized," explained Suharti. (yes)**
