Ahead of Ramadan, Bandung City's PB Diskar Prepares for Disaster Response

During Ramadan the risk of fire appears higher. This often happens because of negligence when cooking before dawn.

Therefore, the Acting Head of the Bandung City PB Diskar, Gun Gun Sumaryana, appealed to residents to be more careful and careful when doing activities in the kitchen.

"During Ramadan fasting, there will also be a change in cooking management hours. To anticipate this, Dikar PB, in collaboration with the regions, appeals to residents to be even more vigilant regarding their cooking utensils," said Gun Gun on the sidelines of the Cross-Sectoral Coordination Meeting for the Handling of Fire and Rescue Operations at the Hotel. Gun Gun appealed to residents to ensure that the stove is safe if they are going to perform tarawih and sahur.

"Make sure the LPG doesn't turn on, it's better to always check the gas hose and regulator so that there are no leaks," he urged.

Apart from that, Dikar PB is grateful for the coordination and synergy with various parties when dealing with disaster response.

Gun Gun explained that the coordination of rescue and firefighting efforts is not only the main task of the PB Department, but all parties take an active role so that the city of Bandung is always safe.

"Diskar PB always coordinates and communicates with regional officials, sub-district heads, village heads, and all their staff or OPDs related to us," he said.

"Polrestabes, Dandim, Satpol PP, Dishub and other devices that play an active role and contribute to rescue efforts," he added.

Until now, Diskar PB has a response time which is the longest measurement parameter to be at the location, within 15 minutes it must be at the scene of the incident.

The city of Bandung has UPT around the area, so that if a fire occurs and the fire is not too big, one UPT can finish it.

If it doesn't work with one UPT, Diskar PB has a command headquarters to strengthen the troops in the UPT, both water facilities and personnel.

Meanwhile, the Acting Mayor of Bandung, Yana Mulyana, thanked the PB Diskar and all regional officials involved in the rescue effort in the city of Bandung.

"Disasters need maximum handling, so that with this meeting, hopefully coordination can be more effective, optimal," said Yana.

Yana hopes that the coordination meeting will produce significant points for the firefighting and rescue service efforts carried out by the Diskar PB as the leading sector.

"Today we are face to face with the related OPD, the Police, the TNI, and volunteers in the city of Bandung, making it easier to carry out firefighting and rescue operations," he said. (asy)**
