Seeing the trend of the Covid-19 number in the city of Bandung which has begun to decline, the Bandung City Government (Pemkot) will issue regulations related to relaxation in several fields.

In the PPKM Level 3 Evaluation Press Conference, on Tuesday, March 29, 2022, the Acting Mayor of Bandung conveyed several plans that the Bandung City Government would take.

"During Ramadan, we are still at level 3. However, seeing the trend of the Covid-19 number which is getting more and more sloping, there are some relaxations that will be carried out. One of them, specifically for drive thru restaurants, can be relaxed for up to 24 hours. Due to minimal interaction and seeing the needs people will have sahur as well as iftar," said Yana.

In addition, Yana added, wholesale shops can be actively open from 08.00-21.00 WIB. For the implementation of Tarawih prayers in mosques, the plan will be limited to 50 percent of the congregation. This regulation is planned to be enforced from the H-1 of Ramadan.

Although there will be a number of relaxations, Yana emphasized that supervision will still be carried out, especially at locations that are often used as places to hang out and markets for takjil sellers.

"For cafes, we limit visitors to 50 percent. The Covid-19 Task Force (Satgas) will also monitor ngabuburit places and takjil sales. Worried that these locations have the potential to increase the number of COVID-19 again," he added.

Yana hopes that if the Covid-19 case in the city of Bandung has passed its peak point. Because, from the data of the Covid-19 Task Force, there has been a very significant decrease in the spread of cases.

"We were at the peak of 1,739 cases and are currently decreasing. Hopefully we have passed the peak and returned to normal. Also with this vaccination effort, we can turn the pandemic into an endemic in the city of Bandung," he hoped.

As for night entertainment venues, Yana forbids operating at all during Ramadan. If a violation is found, the Bandung City Government will not hesitate to seal the place.

Yana also discussed the need to monitor going home from a long time ago. He appealed to the relevant Regional Apparatus Work Units (SKPD) to carry out supervision and monitoring so that there would not be a surge in passengers.

"I still ask for supervision from the Transportation Service (Dishub) to anticipate spikes in places such as terminals and stations. The Air Base (Lanud) also requests to monitor the increase in aircraft passengers. With the consistent application of Care for Protect, we can know what the status of these prospective passengers is," he pleaded.

For Bandung residents who want to go home, Yana recommends doing a complete vaccination before leaving. If the vaccination is complete up to dose III, the public does not need to include the results of the PCR or swab.

Responding to the direction of the Acting Mayor, Deputy Head of Polrestabes Bandung, AKBP M. Yoris Maulana Yusuf Marzuki said his team would also support regulation and supervision at predetermined points.

"Don't let us see that in every corner we see many who open food stands. We are afraid that the number of Covid-19 will increase again. We also hope that the City Government urges the public through health centers to carry out booster vaccines before Lebaran," said Yoris.

On the other hand, the Head of the Bandung City Ministry of Religion (Kemenag), Tedi Ahmad Junaedi, said that the beginning of Ramadan 1443 would be discussed through an isbat session on Friday, April 1, 2022.

"However, according to the reckoning, Ramadan fasting will fall on Saturday, April 2, 2022. As for the implementation of tarawih worship and others, we are waiting for a circular from the central Ministry of Religion," he said. (din)*
