He also warmly welcomed the 100th Anniversary of the community. He said that it was Bandung City’s honour to be involved in such a huge celebration.

“It is such an honour for Bandung City for being part of the 100th anniversary of PFI. Hopefully, in the future, PFI becomes more successful. And speaking of philately itself, I think its economic impacts are astounding,” Yana said in Pendopo, Tuesday, 29 March 2022.

He asked the public to view cultures through educational values contained within the world of philately such as stamps.

“Take a closer look at national cultures, know them through philately,” he asked.

Additionally, the Chairman of PFI, Fadli Zon, said that PFI was one of the oldest associations in Indonesia.

Despite that fact, PFI also becomes one of the associations that have lasted through eras. Especially as we now enter the era of technological advancement, information, and communication.

“When we communicate, we no longer use letters, but, across the world, it is still done through philately exhibition and its titles. And in Indonesia, philately still exists and is continued by young generations,” he said.

Because of that, Fadli found stamps and the world of philately relevant as to its existence in the public. He also appreciated educational values contained within it.

According to Fadli, stamps captured events in a country, from an era to another. Stamps also became one of a country’s identities.

“New touch in stamps these days (digital treatment) make them more relevant with eras,” Fadli said.

On the same occasion, the Head of the Committee of the anniversary event, Sofi Suryanis, appreciated the Bandung City Government.

He believed that the Bandung Government had given profound attention, starting from holding an exhibition taking place in Museum Bandung, to Gala Dinner in Pendopo.

He also reminded that the world of philately had positive values that were valuable to be learned.

“Stamps do not only contain values of national insights, but also provide economic and investment values,” Sofi said.

For your information, Philately Exhibition as a celebration for the 100th anniversary of PFI is still underway in Museum Bandung until 31 March 2022. (ray)**
