Approaching Ramadan to Eid Mubarak, Several Entertainment Places Are Prohibited from Opening
The Bandung City government will prohibit several entertainment places from operating throughout the incoming Ramadan until Eid Mubarak.
It is based on the Circular Letter form the Culture and Tourism Agency of Bandung City No. TU.01.02/1445/lll/2022/DISBUDPAR on the prohibition of touristic areas on religious holidays, namely: Ramadan, the Ascencion of Jesus, and Eid Mubarak 1443 H. For at least 30 days, they will be temporarily closed.
It is also in line with the Regional Regulation of Bandung City No. 14 of 2019 Article 73 Section 6 on Organizing Tourism.
The regulations state that, specifically for bars, night clubs, discotheques, karaoke, pubs, pub and karaoke, massages, billiard houses, spas, and traditional art galleries that are entrepreneur- and entertainment-based are not allowed to operate their business in Ramadan month and other religious holidays.
Based on the regulations, then:
1. Businesses previously mentioned are to be closed on Friday, 1 April 2022 starting at 6 p.m. until Wednesday, 4 May 2022 at 6 p.m.
2. Movies in theatres are to be adjusted with situations and conditions of the previously mentioned religious holidays.
Therefore, if there are corporations disobeying the aforesaid regulations, they will be administratively punished based on Article 74 of the Regional Regulation of Bandung City No. 14 of 2019 on Organizing Tourism. (yan)**
