The Bandung City Government Alleviates Civil Document Issues for the Disabled

The Bandung City Government ensures all of its residents to have civil documents, including the disabled. Such documents cover: Children Identity Card (KIA), Electronic Identity Card (KTP-el), and birth certificate.

The Bandung City Government ensures all of its residents to have civil documents, including the disabled. Such documents cover: Children Identity Card (KIA), Electronic Identity Card (KTP-el), and birth certificate.

 

Therefore, the Acting Mayor of Bandung City, Yana Mulyana, highly supported the plan for the Joint Movement for the Disabled through listing, recording, and issuing civil documents in Sekolah Luar Biasa Negeri (SLBN) or Special Needs School of Cicendo, Cicendo St., Monday 4 April 2022.

 

“This is our effort in providing legal certainties and justice for all people to acquire civil documents,” Yana said.

 

He said that the plan was to be a momentum to give ease of quality service concerning civil document issues for the disabled.

 

On the occasion, Yana also symbolically gave civil documents of KIA and KTP-el to 10 disabled students of SLB Cicendo, SLB B Sukapura, SLB-C YPLB Cipaganti, SLB Autis Prananda.

 

It is worth noting that Bandung City, West Java, is the first region with this movement.

 

The event was initiated by the General Director of the Population and Civil Registration in the Ministry of Home Affairs (Dirjen Dukcapil Kemendagri) who collaborated with the Population and Civil Registration Agency (Disdukcapil) of West Java, the Education Agency (Disdik) of West Java Province, and the Population and Civil Registration Agency of Bandung City.

 

To ensure civil documents for the disabled, data validation was carried out by the Disdukcapil of West Java and Bandung City from 31 March to 3 April 2022.

 

By 3 April 2022, 111 civil documents had been validated and printed covering: KTP-el, KIA, and birth certificates.

 

The Dirjen of Dukcapil Kemendagri, Zudan Arif Fakrulloh, said that the program that was built together was executed together more massively in providing NIK, biodata, KAI, KTP-el, and birth certificates.

 

“This is a big job for all institutions and people, an affirmative movement specifically aiming at giving civil documents to those with difficult accessibility,” Zudan said.

 

“School committees, SLB Principles from SD (elementary school) to SMA (high school) were coordinated by the Education Agency and from our colleagues in the community, associations and organizations of the disabled can contact the Head of the Education Agency or the Disdukcapil to embrace them directly,” he said.
