The Bandung City Government will collaborate with Gojek to beautify Braga this year again. The iconic area will be arranged in several places. Firstly, it will start from Braga pendek of 500 metre.

The Acting Mayor of Bandung City, Yana Mulyana, ensured that arrangement management for Braga must follow the regulations.

“Braga is very iconic. Its theme is very strong. It is expected to be made into an image of an old city,” Yana said when discussing with Gojek in the City Hall of Bandung City, Wednesday, 6 April 2022.

Yana suggested several improvements that could be done. Some of them were: thematic lights, sidewalk renovation, or adding other public facilities. So, Braga can attract its visitors to visit Bandung City again.

“What kind of public spaces that can be added. Perhaps, similar to youth space or shelter for pedestrians. The brand must also be balanced between Gojek and the Bandung City Government,” he said.

Yana also instructed Gojek to invite communities to discuss it, expanding the ideas for Braga improvement.

Responding to the feedback from the Bandung City Government, the District Head of Bandung Raya Gojek, Faris Priyanto, said that the focus of the improvements would be 500 metre of radius first.

“We start branding to merchants because the traffic for incoming- and exiting-Braga can reach 2.000-4.000 orders,” Faris said.

Faris added that Gojek would also collaborate with street artists or street painters across Braga to make a mural.

“Vandalism in Braga is increasing. So, we collaborate with street artists to make a mural on shops’ doors, adding artistic values to Braga. Of course, we will also coordinate with the owner first,” he said.

In addition to adding artistic values in several spots, Faris said that Gojek planned to provide vending machines and shelters for rest areas for the visitors.

“The concept will be further discussed with the Bandung City Government and its other partners. We want to properly develop Braga area according to the existing regulations, as well,” he said. (din)*
