Will be Appointed as the Definitive Mayor, Yana: Infrastructural Development Will be the Breakthrough

The Minister of Home Affairs has officially appointed Yana Mulyana as the Mayor of Bandung City. Yana’s appointment will be held soon.

As a response, Yana ensured that he would continue the positive trends he made with the deceased Oded M. Danial.

He also ascertained that the Bandung City Government, under his leadership, would achieve infrastructural development and economic recovery after the Covid-19.

“Bismillah. I obey the principle (regarding the appointment) and just follow the regulations,” Yana said, Tuesday, 12 April 2022.

Concerning infrastructural development, he said that it was a means in supporting the economic recovery.

Additionally, he projected that the economic growth of Bandung City was at 5,5% in 2022. It was based on the target of economic growth of West Java Province that was around 5%.

“Interestingly, Bandung City is usually higher than the Province (economic growth). If the Governor’s target is 5%, then we project (the economic growth in) Bandung City is around 5,5%,” he said optimistically.

Yana also did not mind his status who, currently, was still the Acting Mayor of Bandung City with the Definitive Mayor later on.

He believed that, although there were some points distinguishing the Acting Mayor with the definitive Mayor, those did not hinder the ongoing government.

“I have the heads of agencies, and civil servants who help each other. In fact, this happens throughout the development,” he emphasized.

It is worth noting that although Yana Mulyana had been set as the Mayor of Bandung City, currently, details regarding his appointment schedule has not been released. (ray)**
