GBLA Stadium Worth Using, Just Waiting For Police Permission

The Mayor of Bandung, Yana Mulyana, confirmed that the Gelora Bandung Lautan Api Stadium (GBLA) was very ready to be used to host the 2022 Presidential Cup.

Yana reaffirmed this after directly reviewing the condition of the GBLA Stadium, Tuesday, June 7, 2022.

"We are monitoring the quality of the grass for other infrastructure chairs. So even if one day this place is used, it is still very feasible," said Yana on the sidelines of her review.

Yana reviewed the condition of the GBLA together with the West Java Regional Police and PT. Persib Bandung with dignity. Yana ensured that the GBLA Stadium facilities were ready and fit to hold a match.

Although it is ready to be used, Yana said, now it is just a matter of waiting for permission to use the GBLA Stadium as the home for the 2022 President's Cup from the police.

"There has been no decision from the police whether the Si Jalak Harupat Stadium in Bandung Regency or the GBLA Stadium. But as seen earlier, it is very feasible here," he said.

Yana hopes that the GBLA stadium can be elected and get permission to hold the President's Cup.

"Hopefully GBLA will be chosen for the presidential cup," he said.

Meanwhile, the Director of PT. Dignified Persib Bandung, Teddy Tjahjono admitted that he was still waiting for permission from the police to use the GBLA Stadium as the host for the presidential cup.

"Earlier we accompanied the West Java Police and the mayor to see the readiness of the GBLA Stadium to host Group C. We are waiting for the results of this inspection to be like," he said.

Regarding the schedule that has been issued by the tournament organizers, Teddy said, the GBLA Stadium has been entered as the host venue for holding the President's Cup match.

"From the regulations issued by PSSI last night, it has been written at the GBLA Stadium. Hopefully, please pray for it," he said.

Teddy hopes that GBLA Stadium can be used as a venue for the 2022 President's Cup.

"Because we plan to have a homebase at the GBLA Stadium. We want to be able to play at the GBLA Stadium. Hopefully at the GBLA Stadium," he said. (rob)*
