Even though the City of Bandung has entered the Enforcement of Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) level 1, the discipline of health protocols (prokes) must still be improved.

Moreover, the latest Omicron Covid-19 variants have recently emerged, namely the Omicron BA.4 and BA.5.

Head of the Bandung City Health Office (Dinkes), dr. Ahyani Raksanagara said that this virus has the potential to also appear in the city of Bandung.

"All existing variants, until now the transmission is the same, so the potential for transmission is the same as other variants as long as there is mobility," Ahyani said to Bandung City Public Relations, Monday, June 13, 2022.

He also appealed, whatever variant of Covid-19 that would later appear in the city of Bandung, the public still had to maintain and discipline the process in every activity.

"Don't forget to complete vaccinations and increase your immune system," he continued.

In addition, the Head of Disease Prevention and Control at the Bandung City Health Office, dr. Ira Dewi Jani also explained, based on the material presented by the Ministry of Health at the Java-Bali coordination meeting, the new variant of the Covid-19 virus has the possibility of spreading faster than BA.1 and BA.2.

"This new Omicron variant has no indication of causing more severe pain than other Omicron variants," Ira admitted.
