The City Government (Pemkot) and the Regency Government (Pemkab) of Bandung have agreed to build a retention pond in Tegalluar, Bojongsoang District, Bandung Regency.

This is an effort to overcome the problem of flooding in the eastern Bandung area.

This step was taken as part of efforts to develop regional potential and public services, infrastructure and solve problems in Greater Bandung.

"Alhamdulillah, various problems were discussed today. Starting from flooding, congestion, garbage and other problems. With all the limitations that exist, but we agree that hopefully we can provide the best for the community," said Mayor of Bandung, Yana Mulyana at the Intercontinental Hotel, Bandung Regency. , Monday 13 June 2022.

Yana revealed that the City Government and Bandung Regency Government had agreed to deal with problems at the border. This was marked by a memorandum of understanding (MoU) which was held last year.

For the construction of the retention pond, it will be carried out through a collaboration scheme.

"The assets can come from the Bandung Regency Government because they are in the Regency Area. Meanwhile, we can self-manage the infrastructure to carry out construction, excavation and others," Yana explained.

According to him, territorial boundaries are not an obstacle to solving problems in the Greater Bandung area. The principle prioritizes collaboration and cooperation for the benefit of the community.

"This proves that the boundaries of authority and territory are not a problem. We have the intention to provide services to the community," he said.

In line with the Mayor of Bandung, the Regent of Bandung, Dadang Supriatna, admitted that he was in harmony and agreed to deal with various issues. However, due to budget constraints, these plans were implemented in stages.

"There is an action plan in stages. Currently, we are still focusing on solving the flood problem. In the future, we must carry out such collaborations consistently," he said.

To note beforehand, the collaboration between the City Government of Bandung and Cimahi has succeeded in presenting a retention pond as a solution to the problem of flooding in the two areas.

The retention pond, which was built in collaboration with the Bandung City Government and Cimahi, is located on Jalan Budi, Cimahi City with an area of ​​7,000 square meters.

Although the retention pond to prevent flooding in the two areas is in Cimahi City, the construction is carried out by the Bandung City Government. (sya)**
