Bandung City Government and Kadin Agree to Speed ​​up Economic Recovery

The Bandung City Government (Pemkot) together with the Bandung City Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) continue to work together in economic recovery.

For this reason, the Bandung City Government and the Bandung City Chamber of Commerce and Industry will jointly innovate in order to encourage Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) as well as the tourism sector to develop.

"We met with Kadin and hopefully in the future, we can continue to collaborate and work together," said the Mayor of Bandung, Yana Mulyana after meeting the Kadin Management, at Bandung City Hall, Wednesday 15 June 2022.

According to him, PPKM level 1 Bandung City can be a way for economic recovery. Moreover, in theory, Bandung City has become an endemic area for Covid-19.

"In theory (Bandung City) is entering an endemic phase. We can together accelerate economic recovery and there are several things we discussed that can be realized to accelerate economic recovery after the Covid-19 pandemic in Bandung City," he explained.

In the same place, the Chairman of the Bandung City Chamber of Commerce, Iwa Gartiwa explained, Kadin is ready to collaborate with the Bandung City Government.

"In the context of collaboration and synergy with local governments. Thank God, actually, the challenges ahead are post-Covid-19 pandemic, so one of the ways to complete this recovery is collaboration," he said.

Iwa said that according to Kadin's tagline, namely Collaboration, Acceleration, Innovation, and Digitization, it was able to accelerate economic recovery.

"Kadin's collaboration with the Bandung City Government every Monday and Thursday holds a meeting with Bandung City MSMEs. Please, Bandung City residents, if there are difficulties in the business world, can come to Kadin," he said.

He gave an example such as increasing marketing digitalization to be more creative in marketing.

"For example, if you want to learn to digitalize marketing, learn management, packaging, including in terms of capital, we have synergized with banks," he said.

"Like the design that is not good, we cooperate with universities and we collaborate with campuses. We also have an SMK friend of the UMKM program that involves SMK children for internships at UMKM. This is very helpful for UMKM and this program is free," he explained.

He admits that the economy in Bandung is better than in other cities. Proven such as economic growth.
