The City Government (Pemkot) of Bandung City has added another creative village. After Braga Creative Tourism Village, Cigadung Creative Tourism Village, Binong Jati Creative Tourism Village, and Cinambo Creative Tourism Village, this time, Cigondewah Creative Tourism Village was present.

"Today, we are reactivation and launching the Cigondewah creative tourism village. Hopefully this reactivation can restore the economy in this area," said Mayor of Bandung, Yana Mulyana when inaugurating the Cigondewah Creative Tourism Village, Wednesday, June 22, 2022.

According to Yana, the Cigondewah creative tourism village is a means of empowering and self-reliant communities in developing human resources in creating competitive tourism.

"Of course this will have an impact on the surrounding economy," said Yana.

Yana revealed that the Bandung City Government would examine the possibility of cooperation with the Bandung Regency Government regarding the potential for tour packages in the Cigondewah area.

"There must be innovation and creativity, the Bandung City Government is here to make this area a tour package, we are already exploring cooperation with KBB (West Bandung Regency). Hopefully later we can work together with Bandung Regency for tourism," he said.

Yana hopes that the reactivation of the creative tourism village will increase the economy, tourism and culture in the city of Bandung.

"Together we carry out the process of economic recovery, culture and various other events. Hopefully, after the pandemic, we can restore the economy in this area," he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Bandung City Culture and Tourism Office, Dewi Kenny Kaniasari, said the reactivation of the Cigondewah Creative Tourism Village was an implementation of the RPJMD mandate.

This reactivation is part of the development of 8 tourist villages in the city of Bandung. Currently, said Kenny, the city of Bandung has 5 creative tourism villages.

"Each one has a theme, Braga history and cultural heritage, Cigadung creative tourism, Binong Jati with a knitting village theme, Cinambo a literacy tourism village, and now Cigondewah is a shopping center," he said.

The creative tourism village of Cigondewah has a tagline as the Center for Fabric Shopping in the City of Bandung. There are around 150 craftsmen and entrepreneurs of cloth and other fashion products.

One of the Cigondewah community leaders, H. Dede enthusiastically welcomed the reactivation of the Cigondewah creative tourism village.

"Alhamdulillah, it is planned to be a creative village for cloth shopping. This can support our livelihoods and there is hope that we can move forward," he said. (rob)**
