Bandung City Government Action to Reduce Stunting Rates

The action relates to the measurement and publication of stunting. As one of the important series in accelerating the reduction of stunting rates that should not be missed.

Mayor of Bandung, Yana Mulyana said the stunting convergence action was carried out with cross-sectoral collaboration and coordination.

"In 2021 the City of Bandung has carried out 8 (eight) integration actions that mutually reinforce each other by prioritizing collaboration and coordination between sectors and involving various stakeholders through synchronization," Yana explained, Tuesday 5 July 2022.

Yana said the Bandung City Government was committed to expanding the scope of stunting loci.

"We are expanding the coverage of the stunting locus kelurahan, which was originally 15 kelurahan in 2020 to 30 kelurahan in 2022," he said.

Yana invites all stakeholders to jointly commit to reducing stunting rates.

In addition, the Bandung City Government has made the prevention and reduction of stunting a priority for developing superior human resources.

"In accordance with the mission of one target two, namely improving the health status of the community as stated in the changes to the Regional Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMD) for 2018-2023," he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Bandung City PKK Mobilization Team, Yunimar Mulyana said, as a form of commitment to reduce stunting rates, his party had run various programs summarized in Bandung Tanginas.

"Bandung Tanginas is a PKk initiation to create stunting-responsive families with safe and healthy food, where in its development, Bandung Tanginas is a forum for various innovations," said Yunimar.

The following is an innovation from the City of Bandung in an effort to reduce stunting.

1. Bandung Tanginas Application;
2. Beas Bereum or school children's lunches are nutritious and cheap;
3. Rembulan or Bandung teenagers excel without anemia;
4. Sigurih or intensive nutrition studies for great Indonesian teenagers
5. Hurry SAE which is home garden cultivation and healthy food processing
6. Efforts to increase family income (UP2K) through capital and skill improvement;
7. Bang Kasep or proud of the septic tank for achieving 100 percent ODF.

In addition, Yunimar said that his party had built a web-based platform and a mobile version related to stunting data collection (e-essential).

"This application aims to obtain accurate stunting recording and data collection results, so that it can be used as decision-making material for appropriate interventions for every stunting case in the Bandung City area," he said. (rob)**
