The Bandung City Government continues to do this in order to prevent the spread of Mouth and Nail Disease (PMK).

"We continue to encourage relevant agencies to carry out inspections of sacrificial animals sold in the market," said Bandung Mayor Yana Mulyana at Bandung City Hall, Wednesday July 6, 2022.

Yana also ensured that all doses of PMK vaccination had been given to livestock as many as 200 doses.

"We have just received 200 doses of vaccine, we have given all of them to farmers," he said.

Yana further said that people don't have to worry about buying sacrificial animals. He asked the public to use the e-safe application to check the health of the animals to be purchased

"Through the e-safe application, there is a barcode. There is a history of animals there too. People don't need to worry when performing sacrifices," he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Bandung City Food and Agriculture Security Service (DKPP), Gin Gin Ginanjar, admitted that he had examined 8,331 animals whose data was integrated through the e-safe application.

"To avoid that the animal being examined is healthy, in addition to the healthy necklace, the necklace is also entered into the e-safety application (healthy deserves to be calmer) so that it can be identified," said Gin Gin.

"As of July 5, there have been 8,331 animals registered in the application," he continued.

Of the 8331 animals that have been examined, said Gin Gin, there are 2,068 animals that are not eligible. With details of 6,587 sheep that have been examined, there are 1,695 sheep that are not eligible.

Furthermore, 1,638 cows have been examined, there are 355 cows that are not eligible. For goats, as many as 105 goats were examined with 17 of them declared unfit. Meanwhile, 1 buffalo was examined and declared unfit.

"We continue to carry out inspections to ensure that the health of the animals to be sold to the public is guaranteed," he said.

Furthermore, Gin Gin said, if there are animals with symptoms of FMD, the public can contact DKPP through the DKPP PMK hotline with telephone number 0889 1001 117. (rob)*
