Rani, one of the parents of grade 1.3 students came to take their son. He has always planned to send his children to SDN 172 Andir Kidul.

"I think this school is better and I'm interested in bringing children here. It's also less than 1 km from home," said Rani

Enthusiasm can also be seen from his son, Nafis. He was happy to be able to study here. Because you will have a lot of new friends.

"If you know someone for two weeks, you can play later. I like to play kites. Yesterday I got a thread and I got injured," said Nafis while showing his plastered finger.

Before entering elementary school, Nafis had a chance to taste the education bench at Bina Insani Kindergarten. He admitted that he really likes coloring and writing lessons.

"From number two, I can make fish and ducks. Then when I grow up, my goal is to become an aircraft technician at the airport," he said cheerfully.

Exactly at 07.00 WIB, the School Environment Introduction Period (MPLS) was officially opened. Starting with a joint ceremony which is also attended by all parents or guardians of students.

The goal is that the new children do not feel afraid and still get the attention of their companions.

The chairman of MPLS SDN 172 Andir Kidul, Kamal Ismail said, some of the materials that will be delivered on the first day of the MPLS period are an introduction to teachers, staff, and rooms in the school.

"The MPLS lasts three days from Monday to Wednesday. The first day is specifically for the opening and introduction of the school environment. This includes crowded classes," said Kamal.

"There are 168 new Class 1 students in total. Each level can be up to 4-5 study groups (groups). Class 1 itself has 6 groups," he added.

While on the second day there was material about the rules and children's creations. New students will be accompanied to make lesson schedules and class pickets.

"Then, on the third day, we focus on the performances of outstanding students and extracurricular activities (extracurricular). So, grade 1 children can be inspired and choose what extracurricular they are interested in," he said.

There are several extracurriculars available, such as swimming, futsal, dance, music, scouts, and UKS. Each student can choose how many extracurriculars they want to take.

"Everything goes back to the children's interests and abilities. We do not limit the number of extracurriculars they participate in. On average, at most, they participate in three extracurriculars," he said.

The principal of the school, Mulyaningsih, said the same thing. He said the level of public trust in the school is still relatively high. Because, all rombel quota can be met.

"However, there are some who do not re-register, so that one class contains 27 students. The average is 28 students in one group," said Mulya.

The most common path chosen by the community during the New Student Admission (PPDB) is the zoning route. In addition, the school has also opened a School-Based Management (SBM) pathway.

He also added that if the students in his school were able to make achievements, they could even represent the city of Bandung to the provincial level.

"For calligraphy, we represent the city of Bandung to compete at the West Java level this year. Then, today we will also have a technical meeting for a picture story competition," he explained.

"Yesterday one of our students won at the city level and will represent at the provincial level as well," he explained.

He hopes that through face-to-face learning (PTM) 100 percent of the time in this new school year, the students can grow the seeds of the spirit of achievement.

"Hopefully the children can obey the rules. We also need the support of parents in the process of children learning at home," he said. (din)*
