"This bulk cooking oil will be sold to end users, both the public and direct traders at the price set by the government at Rp. 14,000 per liter," said Mayor of Bandung, Yana Mulyana.

To avoid wholesale action, Yana said, each person is limited to only buying a maximum of 10 liters. The process will also be supervised by the Village Trustees (Babinsa) and regional parties.

"This oil is of good quality. We are also working with Babinsa and regional parties so that it can be distributed evenly to prevent panic buying in the field," he said.

He hoped that this distribution could trigger the post-pandemic economic recovery in the city of Bandung.

Meanwhile, Dandim 0618/BS, Lt. Col. Inf. Donny Ismuali Bainuri said, there were 37 fleets deployed in the distribution process today. Consists of trucks, pickup trucks, and motorcycles.

"There are 6 trucks, 3 pickup trucks, and 28 motorbikes from Babinsa. For areas that cannot be reached, Babinsa will distribute them," said Donny.

He said the purpose of this distribution was to help overcome community difficulties.

"We will always collaborate with the Bandung City Government. For now, we are helping with cooking oil. Maybe in the future it will be adjusted to the needs of the community," he said. (din)**
