Sportourism, Enliven Economic Growth in Bandun

The Mayor of Bandung, Yana Mulyana, assessed that various activities in the city of Bandung are currently running quite well. Even though it is still a COVID-19 pandemic, the Bandung City Government still adheres to the rules to avoid the spread of the virus.

Pocari sweat run

As with any major sporting event, this time it will be held in Bandung, namely the Pocari Sweat Run 2022. This annual running competition is attended by runners from all over Indonesia.

"Thank God, today I was able to attend the Pocari Sweat Run. The activity was carried out in a hybrid manner with 18,000 participants and around 5,000 offline participants," Yana said on the sidelines of the 2022 Pocari Sweat Run, at Gedung Sate, Sunday, July 24, 2022.

According to him, activities like this can help restore economic growth.

Moreover, he continued, many participants came from outside the city of Bandung. It can increase hotel occupancy.

"We see a lot of participants from outside Bandung. Hopefully it will help boost tourism in the city of Bandung," he said.

Yana hopes that these activities will be carried out regularly.

The Governor of West Java, M. Ridwan Kamil, also participated in this running competition. Deputy Regent of Bandung, Syahrul Gunawan, Mayor of Bogor, Bima Arya, and Governor of Central Java, Ganjar Pranowo.

They also ran for the 10 km distance category.

Pocari Sweat Run 2022, which has reached its 9th year, brings the hybrid concept, which combines the concept of virtual events with offline events.
