Adding Public Space, Bandung City Government Inaugurates Ciko Arena 1

This public space was built on the former land control along the riverbank.

The Mayor of Bandung, Yana Mulyana, officially inaugurated a public space named Ciko Arena 1, Monday, July 25, 2022.

"The Bandung city government is committed to maximizing its function and making this lake a public facility, namely by making an aquascape as a freshwater ecosystem combined with decorative arts of various supporting elements," said Yana.

In the Ciko Arena 1 public space, an underwater garden (aqua scape) and pump track were built. This is an effort to maximize the function of Situ Otong as a place to play, exercise, and recreation as well as a tourist facility

"In addition, Situ Otong can also provide benefits for water absorption for water sources and hopefully it can become a public facility that can be used by anyone," he said.

Yana said the development of public spaces in the city of Bandung is the result of the collaboration of various parties from the government, communities and various other cross-sectors.

"Hopefully, we can increase the spirit of this collaboration so that we can continue to build these public spaces in the future," he said.

He hopes that the various facilities and public facilities that have been built can be maintained and maintained by all parties.

"The key is how we all maintain this place because not only can we build it, but of course we must also be able to maintain it," said Yana.

"Hopefully it can provide as many benefits as possible for the people of Bandung," he added.

Meanwhile, Chairman of Commission C DPRD Bandung City, Yudi Cahyadi appreciated and welcomed the inauguration of the new public space.

"This is the implementation of one of the visions of the city of Bandung, which is comfortable. By utilizing the spatial planning of the city of Bandung, public areas like this are very much needed," said Yudi.

Yudi hopes that the construction of this public space can provide broad benefits for the community.

"The things that have been inscribed by the Bandung City Government in collaboration with various parties can then be felt by the entire community of Bandung," he said.

Ciko Arena 1 Public Space in Binong Village was built on an area of ​​1367 meters. The inauguration was marked by releasing the boat by the Mayor of Bandung, Dansector 22 Citarum Harum, Bandung City DPRD, several heads of OPD and the community. (rob)*
