World City Leaders Will Be Attended, Bandung City Ready to Hold Urban 20

The city of Bandung will host the International Conference on Food Security titled Urban 20, 3-4 August. Urban 20 is a meeting of world city leaders to discuss urban issues, including food security issues. This event is part of the agenda of the Indonesian G20 Presidency.

Head of the Bandung City Food and Agriculture Security Agency, Gin Gin Ginanjar, said that the City of Bandung was chosen as the host because it was considered successful in building the concept of independent food security through the SAE Buruan program.

"This food issue is on the G20 agenda. We are given the opportunity to hold an international agenda on 3-4 August 2022," said Gin Gin.

"This SAE hunt has also become the attention of our friends from abroad, as an independent food security concept," he added.

Urban 20 this time took the theme of increasing urban food security and creating future work through urban farming based on culture and technology.

The forum tries to formulate ideas and solutions regarding the issue of Food Security which will be discussed at the G20 Presidency.

"The output of this activity will be input for discussions at the G20," he said.

The first day, August 3, 2022, an international conference will be held featuring various international speakers at the Amts Geise Auditorium, Parahyangan University, Bandung City.

Later, in addition to holding a conference, on the second day, August 4, 2022, the participants will also be invited to visit several SAE Hunts in Bandung City.

The route starts from Bandung City Hall, then goes to Buruan Sae Sawargi RW 10, Sarijadi Village, Sukasari District, and Sae Padjadjaran Lestari Buruan, Pajajaran Village, Cicendo District, and finally at DKPP Bandung City.

This event, said Gin Gin, is fully supported by the Milan Urban Food Policy Pact (MUFPP), the European Union and several other international institutions.

For information, the City of Bandung is the chairman of the Asia Pacific regional Milan Urban Food Policy Pact (MUFPP).

MUFPP is a meeting of mayors or representatives of world cities in Milan, Italy which has created the Milan Urban Food Policy Pact.

The Milan Pact is an international agreement to create a food smart city for its citizens. So far, more than 200 cities have signed the pact.

Urban 20 will be attended by 250 participants both from within the country and abroad.

"We are fully supported by MUFPP. They will invite all MUFPP members, especially the Asia Pacific region and will present three officials at the mayor's level," he said. (rob)**
