Hurry up Sae Inspires the International World at the U-20 Conference
One of the food security programs, Buruan Sae, inspired the participants of the U-20 conference which was held in Bandung City, 3-4 August 2022.
This was conveyed by the Head of the Bandung City Food and Agriculture Service (DKPP), Gin Gin Ginanjar. According to him, efforts to improve food security are in line with food issues that have recently become a global discussion.
"This can be a recognized good practice, and we want to show it. Alhamdulillah, I don't think this is wrong," he said at the Bandung City DKPP Office, Wednesday, August 4, 2022.
He also said that various countries had looked at Buruan Sae as a place for research or comparative studies. One of them is Rome, Italy.
The Italian capital is scheduled to visit Bandung around October 2022 to conduct a comparative study on the Buruan Sae program.
Gin Gin also hopes that the Buruan Sae program can be a blueprint for other cities in order to improve food security.
Furthermore, he explained, there are four more values that Buruan Sae has.
First, you don't need a large area to run this program. For example, Buruan Sae in Pajajaran Village is located on the Citepus River area. This land has been transformed into a garden that produces various food products.
The same thing happened in Sarijadi Village. Farmers' groups there turn the dump into productive land with a variety of food products and handicrafts.
Second, Gin Gin mentions that Buruan Sae integrates various food commodities. So, this program does not only present vegetables as their harvest, but also fish and livestock.
Third, Gin Gin also mentions integration with the Kang Pisman program as Buruan Sae's advantage.
"We have the Kang Pisman program as an effort to treat waste. With Hurry Sae, we can take advantage of the results of the waste processing," said Gin Gin.
In addition, the last advantage is the existence of Buruan Sae which integrates various elements of society in the city of Bandung. For information, there are currently 335 Buruan Sae points in the city of Bandung.
This number is predicted to continue to grow. Gin Gin hopes that in the future every RW in Bandung will have one point of Buruan Sae.
"This social movement continues to move, we'll see how it continues to grow," said Gin Gin.
The second day of the International Conference with the theme "Improving City Food Security and Creating Future Work Through Culture and Technology-Based Urban Farming in Bandung" was attended by several parties.
