The General Chairperson of Perhumas Indonesia, Boy Kelana Subroto, said that building the city of Bandung requires collaboration with various parties, including the Bandung City Government (Pemkot).

"Build collaboration with stakeholders, including other institutions that make policies. This is an effort to make Perhumas a competent institution," said Boy.

According to him, the main basis for Perhumas to play a role in generating public optimism is the involvement in building the image and reputation of the community.

"There are three trends in 2022 that affect the movement of all public relations in the world. First, reputation and brand. Second, sustainable programs. Third, information transparency," he explained.

He added that public relations must be agile, flexible, and adaptable. Therefore, this year there are several programs that will be the focus of Perhumas.

"We have a Good Talk and City Branding program. This can work together with the Bandung City Government," he said.

In response to this, the Head of the Bandung City Communication and Information Office (Diskominfo), Yayan A. Brilyana said, with a number of service potentials that the City of Bandung has, of course it is necessary to package the city's brand image well to increase tourism and its economy.

"Of the total 2.5 million inhabitants of the city of Bandung, 2.1 million are internet users. They seek information through social media (medsos). We are strengthening how social media can become a reference for seeking information about the city of Bandung," Yayan explained.

Therefore, he added, one of the tasks of Diskominfo, apart from improving information technology, is also to play a role in the image of this flower city through the public relations team.

The Bandung City public relations team, he explained, was divided into two, namely Protocol and Leadership Communications (Prokopim) and Bandung City Public Relations.

"These two parts play an important role in branding the city of Bandung. Without good public relations, I don't think this will develop rapidly," he added.

He said that the Public Relations of Bandung City are mostly occupied by young people, so it is important to optimize various platforms in their activities. This is to find new strategies and ways to build Bandung City.

"For the Young Public Relations, please make our place for you to experiment and exchange ideas. We fight bad news by sharing with each other to build the city of Bandung," he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of BPC Perhumas Bandung, Indra Ardianto said, by joining public relations practitioners from the office, industry, and campus sectors as Perhumas Muda, they could give birth to fresh ideas and ideas in the future.

"We can carry out various activities to make Perhumas Bandung even better by synergizing together to create extraordinary works in the future," Indra hoped. (din)**
