This activity was carried out on Wednesday 17 August 2022 at 10.17-10.20 WIB at several points in the city of Bandung. The main point takes place at Simpang Lima, Jalan Asia Afrika, Bandung City.

Thousands of vehicles that spilled over from Jalan Karapitan, Jalan Ahmad Yani, Jalan Gatot Subroto to Asia Africa, Jalan Sunda and vice versa stopped their vehicles for a moment in front of a red light.

The riders stood and held a moment of silence to celebrate the independence day of the Republic of Indonesia.

'3 Minutes for Indonesia' is the third edition, since it was first conducted in 2020. After the activity, Head of the Bandung City Transportation Service (Dishub) Dadang Darmawan said, the enthusiasm of the community seemed more lively this year.

"Alhamdulillah, we will see for ourselves the event runs solemnly and smoothly," said Dadang.

He added that this activity is a meaning of the meaning of independence and also commemorates the services of the freedom fighters.

"Earlier, the mayor said that the heroes used to fight by taking up arms. Now, we mean independence to be free from the pandemic, recover faster and rise even stronger," he said.

The same thing was conveyed by the Head of the Traffic Division of the Bandung City Transportation Service, Khairur Rijal. Rijal said, the main goal of this activity is to revive the sense of nationalism of the Indonesian people.

He also mentioned "3 Minutes for Indonesia" as a small offering from the City of Bandung for Indonesia in fostering a sense of nationalism after the Covid-19 pandemic.

"It's been two years since we were hit by the Covid pandemic, now it's starting to squirm. This is a small offering from us, from the city of Bandung for Indonesia," he said.

The enthusiasm of the residents can be seen from the expressions on their faces. In the middle of the activity, they took the time to get down for a moment, turn off the vehicle engine and keep Cipta silent.

Junaidi for example. The man, who is a motorcycle taxi driver in Bandung, stopped his activities for a moment to participate in this activity.

He welcomed this activity positively. Junaidi said, achieving independence was not easy. As an independent citizen, a form of appreciation for this big day needs to be done as a reminder for the nation.

"Yes, this activity is positive, while reminding the independence that the heroes fought for is not easy," he said.
