Strengthening Cyber ​​Security, Bandung City Government Collaborates with Korean Technology Companies

The Bandung City Government (Pemkot) is aggressively transforming services digitally. So the Bandung City Government needs to maintain, improve and strengthen cyber security.

For this reason, the Bandung City Government has collaborated with a system security company based in Korea, Steal Alien Indonesia.

Mayor of Bandung, Yana Mulyana said, the city of Bandung is a barometer of smart cities in Indonesia with various applications being built. So, the problem of cybersecurity vulnerability is a part of the concern of the City of Bandung.

"Moreover, during the pandemic we created various applications to reduce direct interaction. It is vulnerable to cyber attacks, so it needs protection against cyber attacks. We thank Steal Alien for providing support," Yana said at Bandung City Hall, Thursday, August 18, 2022.

"The digital transformation that has been carried out can continue to be developed and meet international security standards for the smooth operation of internal services and public services of the Bandung City Government," he added.

He hopes that the cooperation can be sustainable and provide broad benefits, especially for service to the community.

"Our efforts are to provide the best service for the community. We need support from all parties and continue to innovate. Technology continues to develop, handled by experts in the field, we believe our system will be safe from cyber attacks," he said.

"Hopefully it will continue, other cooperation as long as it is profitable for us is very open," he continued.

Meanwhile, Head of the Bandung City Communication and Information Office (Diskominfo), Yayan Ahmad Brilyana said that information and cyber security is a series of assessments of the Electronic-Based Government System (SPBE).

"One of the assessments is application security, we only get level 1. Hopefully with this collaboration we can increase the value of SPBE to level 4," he said.

Furthermore, Yayan said this cooperation lasted for 2 years with a benefit value of Rp. 1.8 billion.

"We welcome the use of PenTest and the granting of a system security license for 2 years from Steal Alien Indonesia to assist us in system security," he said.

"In the future, together we will maintain information security. Find vulnerabilities and cyber security risks in applications owned by the Bandung City Government, namely Sadayana and online mail," he added.

On the other hand, the President Director of PT. Indonesian Steal Alien, Hyuk-jae Hong said, this cooperation is the first step to improve cyber security in Indonesia.

"It is an honor to support cyber security in the city of Bandung. The first step is our commitment to contribute to cyber security in Indonesia, especially in the city of Bandung," he said.

To note, Steal Alien Indonesia is a security system company based in Korea and has been widely used by large Korean companies and the Korean government.

The collaboration with the Bandung City Government is the provision of the use of PenTest for two applications, namely the Sadayana Application and Online Letters and the granting of an AppSuite License as a Security Solution for the Bandung City Application. (rob)**
