Padat Karya, Kamis 22 September 2022

A total of 40 people descended simultaneously for the next 10 days. Their previous livelihood was on average daily freelancers in other people or factories.

Camat Rancasari, Hamdani said, there were three categories of participants who were selected to be involved in the program.

"The labor-intensive participants we recruit fall into the following three categories, namely those who are registered with the DTKS, those who have been laid off or laid off, and residents who have not had the opportunity to work," explained Hamdani when met at his office.

All participants are residents with Rancasari ID cards. He said, for his territory only native Rancasari residents were recruited.

"Because we do have a lot of productive workers who can still be employed," he said.

The prioritized target location is the southern area of Rancasari which is directly adjacent to other districts. Because there is a small river that ends in the Rancasari area.

"There are two large rivers that cross two urban villages in this area, the Cidurian River and the Cipamokolan. So we divided into two large groups of 22 people and 18 people," he explained.

Hamdani explained that the Padat Karya activities carried out for 10 days included dredging, cleaning of garbage, and normalizing small rivers or drainage.

"We prioritize drainages that are clogged and weed. We dredge and normalize waterways. These channels are under the authority to maintain the sub-district and lurah," he explained.

The locations that are focused on cleaning are RW 03, 04, 05, and through to RW 06 in Derwati Village.

"We will clean Mekar Jaya Village in RW 02 and 03," he said.

Apart from Derwati and Mekar Jaya villages, two other villages in the northern area of Rancasari will also be cleaned, namely Manjahlega and Cipamokolan.

"The payment will be made after all the work is completed. Each resident gets Rp1.3 million," he said.

In addition to the Padat Karya from the Manpower Office, Hamdani explained some of the assistance programs for the impact of inflation and the increase in fuel prices that have been carried out by his party.

First, there is PKH Direct Cash Assistance (BLT) as much as Rp. 600,000 and Rp. 200,000 which have been distributed this month.

"Thank God it went smoothly. They were enthusiastic and grateful. All BLT was distributed at one point at the post office location," he continued.

Then, a program to streamline MSMEs through the Cheap Market. In addition to selling basic commodities whose prices are below the market price, the public is also provided with a booth to sell MSME products.

"Alhamdulillah, people have high purchasing power because the price is slightly below the market price and retail stores," he explained.

He hopes that the Bandung City Government (Pemkot) can guarantee the existing stock of goods, so that there will not be a significant increase in the price of goods.

One of the participants in the Padat Karya is Abdul Qodir, a resident of RW 03 Mekar Jaya. Day-to-day he works as a junk collector in a housing complex.

"Usually like to be called too, told to clean the house in the complex," said Qodir.

Before the Covid-19 pandemic, he used to sell carp around. However, since the pandemic, his business has been badly affected.

"In the past, it was Rp. 20,000-Rp. 25,000 a day. Now it is difficult," he said.

In the midst of his limitations, he has to support his wife and two children who are still in elementary and high school.

"The ingredients are increasing, the children are also about to graduate. They say they want to continue their studies," he admitted.

He was also grateful for the work-intensive program. Because he can get a better income.

"Hopefully working through this program will be one of the sustenance for children's college," he hoped. (din)**
