Head of Bandung City Department of Industry and Trade, Elly Wasliah, explained that until the fourth day of the event, the Cheap Market had recorded sales of up to IDR 408 million.

"A total of IDR 408 million has been achieved as a sales figure in 12 points and 4 days," said Elly at Bandung City Hall, Tuesday, September 27, 2022.

Elly also added that almost all commodities sold at the Cheap Market were in great demand by the public.

For example, such as chicken eggs, rice, cooking oil, shallots, garlic, 3 kilograms of LPG, and many more.

“We sell at a large price difference. Chicken eggs in the price range of IDR 27-28 thousand if found in the market. In the cheap market, the price is Rp. 24 thousand," he explained.

"Also 3 kilograms of LPG. Sold for Rp. 16 thousand or base price. Meanwhile, in the market, the figure has reached Rp. 25,000," said Elly.

The cheap market will be held from 19 September 2022 to 10 October 2022. Furthermore, there will be an evaluation related to its implementation, one of which includes the success of the cheap market as a solution in anticipating the potential increase in the price of basic commodities in the city of Bandung.

"We will first finish 30 points, after that we will evaluate," said Elly.

He also believes that the Cheap Market, which was held in 30 sub-districts, is a solution that suppresses the increase in the price of basic commodities.
