After the feasibility test process, Head of Traffic Division of the Bandung City Transportation Service, Khairur Rijal said that the queue of vehicles at the foot of the Cibaduyut - Leuwipanjang - Soekarno Hatta road is much smoother than before the fly over operated.

"Based on the data, the length of the queue of vehicles at the foot of the intersection before the fly over was around 50 to 100 meters. And after the feasibility test, the fly over is functional, there are relatively no queues of vehicles or traffic jams at the foot of the intersection during traffic jams," he said.

In the future, Bandung City Transportation Agency will evaluate traffic management under Fly Over Kopo.

Based on the traffic Amdal recommendation issued by the Ministry of Transportation in the fly over design, it is stated that the traffic arrangement at the foot of the intersection refers to a signalized intersection or the application of a red light at the foot of the intersection.

However, there is also the possibility that the traffic arrangement will apply a U-Turn system (turn around) relying on a reversal access on the west and east sides under the flyover.

"The evaluation will be carried out after the flyover is fully operational," said Rijal.

He advised the people of Greater Bandung, especially the City of Bandung, who use Fly Over Kopo as access to drive so that they obey the traffic signs that have been installed.

In more detail, he reminded motorists not to stop along the fly over. Next pay attention to the speed of the vehicle when crossing the fly over.

“The recommended speed is no more than 50 kilometers. So, let's pay attention to this together," he said.

Furthermore, Rijal advised motorists to maintain cleanliness along the flyover.

“This is a matter of pride for the people of Bandung. Let's take care of each other," he said.

Meanwhile, the chairman of the Bandung City DPRD, Tedy Rusmawan, said that the presence of Fly Over Kopo is believed to be a solution to unravel the congestion that occurs in this area.

"In general, the public appreciates the presence of Fly Over Kopo," said Tedy after the Fly Over Kopo Functionalization event.

Reflecting on the functional feasibility test process carried out, Tedy is optimistic that Fly Over Kopo can be a useful facility for the people of Bandung City.

“The function test is also carried out with several processes. We are optimistic, God willing," said Tedy.

At the same place, the Governor of West Java, Ridwan Kamil, who was present at the event, said that the presence of the Kopo Fly Over in Bandung is one of the acceleration efforts related to the economic recovery of West Java, especially in the Greater Bandung area.

According to him, in addition to improving infrastructure, improving the quality of public transportation in West Java cities, especially Greater Bandung, is the key to welcoming post-pandemic activities.

"This is a symbol of our post-pandemic economic revival and is a collaboration of three elements, starting from the Bandung City Government, the West Java Provincial Government and the PUPR Ministry," he said. (ray)**
